Great little story! I love the interaction. This is one of those perfect stories that hits just the right notes that I want more, but I know that this is the best place to end. Love it.

As for your Second * - I've only even heard of "abbreviated forms" of bowing and curtsying in some fantasy novels and the occasional fanfiction. I wasn't even taught how to bow (is there a specific way?) let alone abbreviated forms of a bow. Definitely not something taught in the average American public school

Re the public and private school thing, the "public" part is mostly a historical thing - schools in Britain before 1640 were run by the Church, guilds, etc. so there was some sort of restriction on who could attend them. The original "public" schools were the first to accept anyone provided that they could pay the fees. In the 19th century the Public Schools Acts were passed by parliament to deal with some abuses by school staff etc. - the seven schools affected by it, and two others which were left out of the act because there were no abuses, were the really big and famous ones, which are generally regarded as the "real" public schools and still sometimes called that. In practice all of the other fee-paying schools are generally regarded as elitist etc., but don't get called "Public Schools" in that sense.

Hey, really enjoyed this and I hope to see more of it in the future! Just wanted to say, in Britain we say either state school or private school. State schools are government funded and free to attend, they are the equivalent of American public schools. Private schools are what you've said are called public schools, but we don't call them public schools anymore, if we even have in the past 20 years or so. Maybe in official government correspondence they still use the term but ask anyone in Britain what a public school is and they'll tell you it's a free-to-attend state school. Private schools are, of course, the opposite, pay to attend and all that. Hope this helps!

I have to say. This short story of yours is rather brilliant. I really like the interaction between Sherlock and Harry and ever-confusing add-ons from our lovable Luna Lovegood. The way Harry and other magicals are just ... slipped into the story, as if there is nothing remarkable about them as opposed to the usual way of a character just stumbling into the middle of a magical battle is also amazing. We (the readers) know that the students are magical but any normal observers (like Watson) don’t notice anything weird except for a few details that can be explained away as eccentricities and I’m loving it.

I know that you wrote this story two/three years ago, but it would be reallly amazing if you wrote a whole story and not just a one-shot.
