Blue Butterfly chapter 1 . 2/23 Actually, Nathan DID kill Rachel. Originally, the gameplay included a letter in Episode 5. In this unused letter, Nathan admitted to Jefferson (who has been angry and avoiding him for a few months), "Yes, I know I fucked up with R." If this letter had been included in the game, this would have been strong evidence towards disproving the fan theory of Nathan not being the cause of Rachel's death. I really like your story, and I wish some of these moments and dialogues you had here were in the game. However, If this was the ending in the game, I don't think it would have left as much impact on the players, because just like Max, in the end you also just wanted to fix everything. Max and Chloe both stay alive, Nathan redeems himself and even turns against his own family (really?), Frank decides to have a clean start (as if it was that easy in real life), Warren is not left alone, etc. (Both endings in the game didn't dwell on what exactly happened to the side characters, because they wanted the players to make their own perperations and use their own imagination). I know many people were upset that the game makes you make such a hard decision at the end. But the reason why the fans are still talking about the ending of the 'Life Is Strange' is because unlike so many other games out there, this game had the guts to make its characters suffer and it didn't avoid doing things just because the developers knew very well that most fans didn't want them to happen. Moreover, violence, isolation, death and desperation are strong themes throughout the game. Likewise, the purpose of the ending wasn't about making the player feel good about themselves. It was supposed to tell you that no matter how much you ran and hide, and try to avoid the inevitable, you have to take responsibility and make decisions that will have consequences. I think you could have avoided this "have your cake and eat it too" trope if there still was some kind of punishment at the end even if you manage to save both Chloe and Arcadia Bay. Perhaps the price of the 3rd ending could have been that Max would not be able to catch mr. Jefferson (since she can't rewind anymore) and someone else would have been arrested by the police and ended up in prison instead (like Nathan or David depending on your earlier decisions). And at the end of the story, it would have been implied that mr. Jefferson will continue his sick habbits in some other town. Well, that's how I would have written the 3rd ending for the game. :) |
Stargazing Writer chapter 1 . 12/29/2017 Wow! So awesome! The game should have ended this way. |
Dew1303 chapter 1 . 12/16/2017 Now it's what I understand! Just perfect! That moment when Max control tornado is just how it used to be. Best of best. Thanks for this beautiful story. |
Dinopup chapter 1 . 4/8/2016 I cried... no no I FREAKIN' BAWLED MY EYES OUT! just when I thought I had no more tears to shed and now this. brb need to flush down all my feels. This fic deserves more views/favs/reviews tbh. This is a way better ending than the original. I do believe that you don't have to sacrifice Chloe in order to fix everything because then what's the use of giving Max superpowers in the first place, right? and I'm really glad to see that I'm not the only one who knew that Nathan Prescott is not that evil. Even though he tried to kill Chloe, accidentally killed Rachel, drugged Kate, punched Warren in the face, and tried to steal the tobanga. He just needs a hug. c: |
FandomsAreLoveFandomsAreLife chapter 1 . 4/5/2016 I just came here to say your story is fricking amazing and it really cheered me up. Thanks. |
Guest chapter 1 . 2/25/2016 You should try doing a version of this story in which: a. Mark Jefferson is actually an illegitimate member of the Prescott family. b. William Price's accident is actually a covered-up murder. c. The mysterious happenings of Arcadia Bay caused by Rachel Amber's wrath at the town from beyond the grave (for being killed before she could achieve her dream), as opposed to Max's space-time manipulation powers being the cause of it. |
violetnovice chapter 1 . 12/25/2015 That ending tho O.O |
AjaxKnight chapter 1 . 12/2/2015 Very very good work here. It feels like your kind of quelled everyone's desires with episode 5. We met Rachel, the Prescotts know about the storm, the town is saved. It's all really nice. But honestly? A little...too nice. I'm not complaining. Don't get me wrong. But I love the idea that you can't get what you want in full. That every choice will have consequences. But since this is just a story, and you can't pick some kind of ending, I loved it. Really really did. Nice pacing, good ideas, honestly feels like it could've been the ending there. 10/10, even if you didn't put in that kiss that I so longed for in the end. ;) |
hip-hop-kids chapter 1 . 12/1/2015 Holy shit, that ending oh my god |
Twi chapter 1 . 12/1/2015 Oh I wish this is how it ended in the game. I really loved this one shot of yours, great plot, great writing, and hella great character feelings development. I hope to see more of your Pricefield stories if you do write more of these! :) |
Guest chapter 1 . 11/30/2015 Maybe you could do a story that shows everyone's lives after this story? Maybe Max and Chloe will eventually get married and adopt a baby girl or something like that? Maybe the Prescott family money was released to the poor citizens of Arcadia Bay...? |
n1bro chapter 1 . 11/30/2015 my gosh what an ending! |
