Guess my question was directly asked here since Sai can't regulate his body temp. Darnit, I was kinda hoping he was a firebender and was just keeping it a secret for an important reason.

Since the beginning of the story, I've been wondering if Sai was a firebender as well since he was a general and I'd expect the Fire Nation to only allow strong Firebenders to hold that high of a rank. However, I suppose there's also Piandao, though I don't know what rank he held. I've really enjoyed Sai's experiences and his influence on the group. Can't wait to read more :). OMG! The story is so good and I'm looking forward for the next chapters! Also, considering that Taiza's father cares a lot about his political career and that arranged marriages exist, I'm surprised that Taiza and Mai aren't engaged to someone who has important political connections.

I think the story and MC for this is really interesting. It was really fresh to read a character from the fire nation that didn't just outright say everything about the fire nation sucks, as well as a non bender. I thought the first half was a bit hard to read in terms of time and narrative jumps, but that has resolved itself in the latter half. I can't wait to see more interactions between Iroh and Taiza, as well as what's going to go down when he meets everyone again (which I'm assuming he will since the gang has to rescue the Earth King.) Thank you for the chapter!

So when first things first when I was reading the fic I didn't see the cannon pic (which is good) and always assumed he had short hair or hair that like Zuko's goes into a top knot since that's the generic and proper code.

Other then that great fic! Its not easy pull off a good SI fic. That plot twist as Mai's brother is great! And I didn't realize it but is his fiancé Azula? If so that's pretty crazy for him I mean. Although if you don't want to break the cannon romances up its not much to choose from only Azula or Tai Lee or maybe Toph (but she is way too young), though his life would probably be safer in Tai Lee's hands over Azula. So does Azula really like him does he like her? And how would the power dynamic work if he's a non bender?

I'm also very curious what he said to Ozai because if my general was presumed dead then turned up halfway across the world I would like to know. So if you could add in what he said it would be good.

Couple things I don't understand why did he hide his rank also is he able to fire bend 'cause I'm pretty sure the ability to fire bend is a requirement to make that rank in the fire nation
