Reviews for Gate: March of the Empires
Guest chapter 6 . 12/8/2018
They were already aware of air threats. That's just an implausibly stupid oversight. To be clear, I'm talking about the bases. Not that an air component can't cause damage.
Guest chapter 1 . 12/8/2018
The war was a matter of politics. If Hirobumi didn't feel like he had to quit literally every premise of the war is changed. That's often true of many things in history, especially war. This isn't anything special. It's often helpful to be reminded of that.
Guest chapter 3 . 5/13/2018
Nice, but you don't really address the kaiser with "sir".
vigilantesneedlovetoo chapter 7 . 4/5/2018
-Hey Uhm... The Kaiser was known for his humble nature(although he was a pretty bad mouthpiece
for the Reich in foreign MANY times over). Hell, he even sent several warships, packed with relief
supplies and temporary shelter, To a favorite hunting location of his, BECAUSE IT HAD BEEN
BURNING IN A WILDFIRE! the area had many local towns/villages burned to the ground, thus
leaving the NON-GERMAN citizens homeless and many also injured (to varying degrees). OH! And he
sent the ships to the forested location, WHILE THE TREES WERE STILL SMOLDERING!

-I recommend the book of his Daughter's Memoirs, to start gathering references as to The Kaiser's
oddly (kinda OVER-BERING) humble nature when it came to other PEOPLE AS INDIVIDUALS. Then,
maybe read through some of his prewar interviews, speeches' transcripts, and direct quotes from his
attitude when it came to situations like you present here; where he reacts towards the USA
attacking the imperials... You don't have to though, but he would have not had as much power over
the military DURING WARTIME, when compared to that of his during peace-time. so maybe have the
high command doing more of the 'questionable' planning in future chapters (but you probably
already planned to do just that, sorry for that XD)... Either way, great so far! keep it up! :D
*The book title is: "The Kaiser's daughter" The Memoirs of Viktoria Luise, Princess of Prussia(AND A
SHIT TONNE OF OTHER OFFICIAL TITLES)

-Also, Kaiser Wilhelm II was actually 'friends' with Teddy Roosevelt, somewhat. sorry to be nit picky;
I just can't help it when it comes to the Great War, and the turn of the century in general, however.

-One, OF COUNTLESS, things I DO LIKE about your fic, however; Is the accurate depiction of Teddy's
semi-disdain for officially making the USA into an empire :D [cuz of the obvious-even very much so
at the time- FACT that the Imperialistic systems NEEDED for such a title go directly against the
principles the USA was FOUNDED UPON; sans the whole Spanish-american war {Because that was
the wake-up call to said FACT}] My point is: Please try to maintain Teddy's historically accurate
views(that we know for sure)... sorry for explaining something you obviously already knew there... I
just felt I needed to give my maximum details in my reasoning for WHY I LIKE THIS ASPECT OF
YOUR FIC... again sorry for the length of this review XD

-Though, I DO VERY MUCH LIKE THIS FIC! DO NOT THINK I WILL 'write it off'{Get it?} SIMPLY FOR
THESE GRIPES! I DO VERY MUCH LOVE THE IDEA OF THE Gates BRINGING THE WORLD POWERS
TOGETHER!
jatyynismaa1900 chapter 6 . 4/5/2018

jatyynismaa1900 chapter 1 . 4/5/2018
Dude this is awesome
Pacificbobcat chapter 7 . 4/2/2018
I’m sorry if you find this comment annoying, but I just feel like I need to get this out of the way. When your story began to bring out navel forces, I feel like I should point out that most first shots didn’t usually connect with their targets. They would normally have to either overaim and underaim before the fire directors could more accurately find a target’s range. At least when were talking about ship to ship combat. I’m not sure about the bombardments. I’d also like to note that there wasn’t really that much anti-air capabilities yet, as aircraft didn’t really begin to play a major role in militaries until the First World War.
King Quinn Of Tucky chapter 7 . 12/19/2017

anonymous chapter 7 . 8/25/2017
Anxiously waiting for the next update.
DownTownAlpha chapter 7 . 8/13/2017
Really interesting setup you have so far especially with the elements from 1904, a nice break from the other stories following the modern era. The moments with the dragon was pretty intense as well, I'm sure our alliance will be able to adapt to airborne hostiles soon.
Btw, is it possible for the Imperial Japanese to commission former samurais and their swordsmanship into their units? Seeing the enemy has the upper hand in close-quarters, they might want to adapt a little bit more than just relying on bayonets and sabres.
WarGlory chapter 7 . 7/26/2017
I'm pretty happy that the Germans are now having a pretty active role in the Special Region, I hope to see more of them in the near future.
ATP chapter 7 . 7/18/2017
Good now,Empire has better recon/dragons/,but so what? Maybe they should start
small war using demihumans to night attacks? Problem is,nor Kaiser nor Japan would be
frightened by good was Rondel mages? In your story, they could be more powerfull.
P.S Funny thing about Great War - Habsburgs knew, that they had no chance, and go to war
only becouse Berlin promised im to attack Russia they lied - Kaiser ordered
attack France first, austrians was destinied to be cannon fodder against Russia.
OMAC001 chapter 7 . 7/10/2017
Hope the next update isn't so long in writing!
President of the Ohio chapter 7 . 7/8/2017
Another fantastic chapter, I love how you not only reference Truman's military service (let's hope he doesn't meet up with young McArthur) but also his Presidency; it's all just perfect. Now onto another matter; I want to make a map for your story but I'm in a bit of a pickle. I found a really good blank map that I managed to edit so it's borders matched those from 1905, then I colored the countries that are known to fighting the Empire and, finally, I made a large dot where a 'Gate' is supposed to be.

Presently the U.S. (the continuous 48 states), Britain, Algeria, Germany and Japan are colored, and there is a dot by Washington, London, Sidi Bel Abes, Berlin and somewhere near Cuxhaven, and Tokyo. My problems are that I don't know how much of the British Empire should be colored, I don't know if I should add the German, Japanese and American colonial Empires, France is colored but I don't know if I should change that, and are there other cities that have 'Gates', and if so which ones.

If you want to I will be more than happy to send the completed map to you when it's finished. Thank you again for this amazing story and I can't wait to read more.
