I’m glad you brought this back. This story has limitless potential and has better quality than most other fanfics and even some published books.

Why no NPC? They still background anyway, but there are Kizmel...

This fic is really good, but it just seems to move at a snail's pace at time. It feels like I'm walking at a snail's pace just to get to a point and then you take a sharp zag which causes my internet to spike once more and then you go back snailing along before you then take a zig. A lot of the slow parts are very important, I totally get that but it feels like a slog to get through.

So all NPC’s are gone? That’s actually kinda, sad. While the NPC’s in Aincrad were never implied to be fully sentient AI like Yui (and even then later season sorta retconned Yui and all NPC’s based on the SAO system as being not being fully sentient if memory served, with the whole “top-down vs bottom-up AI” stuff), but even then they were apparently close enough to human that Kirito felt uncomfortable with the idea of using them as a canon fodder, and even then Top-Down AI’s were stated to be able to learn, not on the level of Bottom-Up AI, but still given enough data I think it would make sense that they would evolve over time, even if only by mimicking behaviors observed in humans, and I think after two years of constantly being active and constantly being exposed to humans, all of which were in a very stressful situation that could inspire all kinds of emotions. Well, to put it another way, did we just see an entire civilization of beings on their way to becoming truly aware die off in an instant? Also how exactly would this effect Yui, she’s an AI, who is suddenly an at least seemingly organic being, I think at the very least suddenly going from having a computer the size of a planet for a brain, to a tiny fleshy one would be rather jarring. Just asking because these seems like questions that might be asked in this situation, and that’s not even touching the whole “how in gods name did this happen?” part.

I first read this story a few years ago, and I loved it. It wasn't unusual to have a story be unfinished on this site, with updates stopping for years or months at a time. But reading this story was different. As soon as I hit the last chapter, I was anxious to know the rest, despite I knowing that an update was unlikely... but I hoped. Actually I read this story multiple times, trying to figure out for myself what was going to happen.
To the author of this story: thank you for taking the time to revisit your old works. It means a lot to a reader (speaking for myself) when authors pick up on their old works and finish them. It's closure. And for all the times I've read stories unfinished, just waiting to have their story written, a little bit of closure is all that I ask. So... thank you. I hope you are well and staying safe.
