Hi! I just want to mention how great you are at writing OC inserts. I’ve read both this and your River of Opals series, and I love it. You manage to make the characters strong enough to have a positive impact without turning them into Mary-Sues (they don’t end up spending the whole story bemoaning their uselessness and having someone die every time they save someone else then spiraling, but at the same time they don’t just go around flattening people. Like Asuka’s ANBU encounter- she didn’t just curb stomp the guy, but she did manage to save the Hyuuga, albeit with chakra exhaustion)

I also really like your approach to the Tiffany Conundrum. Presumably you’re either really good at history or very committed to research to be able to recognize that yes, ninja have TV too (at first it seemed wrong to me [in River of Opals too], but when I starting thinking about it it started making a lot more sense. I mean, if they have radios for combat communication, why not cheesy soap operas?)

I don’t think the way you sealed with Danzō was a cop-out at all- he was old and surprised, plus it’s not like he’s the only villain in the Narutoverse, or even the strongest/sneakiest. Plus also I’m willing to bet having so many Sharingan resulted in a massive chakra drain, even covered up, so he was fighting at a fairly low strength relative to, say, Orochimaru or Itachi, or even your standard ANBU. I am rather firm in the belief that without Danzō’s personal army and sketchy stuff on loan from Orochimaru he would have kicked the bucket on his own during either early canon or maybe even pre entry into the Academy for the Rookie Nine.

I’m fairly curious as to how the curse seal incident is going to play out now- will Sasuke still be marked, and if he is will he cave as quickly as he did in canon? And speaking of Sasuke’s attitude, how will he react when Itachi shows up? Will he blow his brother’s cover, get shoved down a dark path, or remain curious and keep seeking answers?

feels a bit anticlimatic, i feel like the note about her thinking anbu was taken out in his heart attack could have been a thought in story, because honestly that made me snort. love protective grown up prodegies looking after current prodegies

Welcome back! We missed you! The Danzo thing might feel like a cop-out only because it happened so quickly, so it comes off as a McGuffin of sorts? *shrug *

personally i like having Danzo outed early, so this particular plot is good for me. and honestly i love it when the Plot imploded spectacularly.

Eh? But Sasuke doesn't have the Sharingon yet... and his motivation is different. Cannon's already derailed, she should not expect things to go as planned. Go in prepared for the worst...

I missed this story, it's been so long I almost forgot where I was until I backtracked. It's worth it though. Though I had to pause cause I had jury duty when I noticed update and I wanted to savor the update. Totally worth it when a protective Kakashi is involved.
