That was a fun ride. You've certainly got nothing to be ashamed of or worried about with this story - it stands just fine. Sometimes you need a quiet little thing, and this fits the bill. There's drama enough without being too much, and a nice ending. As for where it came from? Heartbreak is a tough thing to deal with, and it's nice to see that something good came from it all. Hmm... I'm not entirely sure how I feel about this one so far. I do like the premise and setup, but about halfway through the chapter pacing goes a bit wonky.

It's never made clear in the excerpt about Blake's interaction with Sun that their conversation is happening in real time, until the next section reveals that Ruby meets Penny again "that same morning." How much time has passed? Is this the next day? There's no transition from Blake's thoughts about Sun being hired at her bookstore.

What about Yang's kissing scene? Is this later the same day? Who's the guy she's with, and was the situation truly romantic or did Blake misinterpret a mistake? (Can't remember the name of that trope.)

These are just a few of the ambiguous points which could have been better expanded upon in order to make your leading chapter a better hook. Hell, in my opinion this could've been split into two nice-sized chapters with enough context and detail. In any case, I like the premise as I said, and the characters seem to be written competently enough. I may continue reading later this evening if I've got time. Happy Christmas! It was a pretty great story I enjoyed it a lot only wish there was more lol I'll just read your other stuff

I don't wanna be the this person, but even though I enjoyed reading the story, I can't agree with most of the other reviewers, who say it was great or amazing. The main problem with it is, that it's just overall too much. There are too many characters involved and the constant scene changes and time skips in each chapter were mood killers most of the time. A few words for Blake and Yang then skip to Ruby and Penny then Ruby and Weiss then Weiss on her own then Blake and Neptune then Pyrrha and Jaune then Jaune and Neptune etc. etc. You were basically trying to tell seven or eight different stories, with the White Rose and Bumblebee ones seemingly being the main plot and the others being side plots, that somehow started to tie into the main story somehow. This could've been amazing if you would've focused on RWBY as main characters and just having some supportive characters show up every other chapter. The suspense and romance would've had a whole lot more impact that way.
