Goten Askil chapter 19 . 8/23
Why the hell would they bring the Gawain to Ashford? In canon it was on Kamine specifically to use its systems to analyze the ruins, but here it makes absolutely no sense. Same for the Avalon, frankly, there's no reason making it fly above the city and terrify all inhabitants.
Why wouldn't Lelouch interrogate Schneizel here and now? or take him with him, even, since he has him at his mercy?
Why would Lelouch decide to decide to leave Nunnally without even a word? He's still in control of his Geass and being blind she cannot be affected by anyway.
Why would he let her be taken back to Britannia? Even if for some far-fetched reason he believes she's at risk with him, he's literally spent the last eight years getting her away from the Imperial Court, why the hell would he stop now on a whim? And why is Sayoko not there at the time?
Why would Schneizel and Cornelia automatically decide to take Nunnally against everyone's wishes without even waiting to try and convince Lelouch, when they don't know he's Zero so have no reason to suspect him of anything but paranoia? Using her as a hostage to "convince" him is cold enough that I could maybe see Schneizel do it, but Cornelia would never agree to that, she actually loves Nunnally.
You actually have some good ideas, like the "Don't die" order that fits much better than in canon (where "evade" or "protect me" would have been more logical in context than "live"). But some of the things you do to articulate the events make absolutely no sense.
Goten Askil chapter 13 . 8/22
There is no chance Mao could work with Lelouch, even if Lelouch has no romantic interest in her (I personally don't think he had any in series-canon anyway, and certainly not so soon in the story). Mao is the typical yandere: he wants C.C. for himself and himself only, regardless of what even she desires. I mean, he shot her to immobilize her and was ready to cut her into pieces in order to bring her to Australia with him. Even if she's immortal, that should tell you everything about him: guy is crazy as hell. Lelouch's wishes or motivation are completely irrelevant: C.C. gave him something, C.C. wants something from him, so in Mao's worldview Lelouch must not exist. Maybe if C.C. was willing to abandon Lelouch and her wish to die, they'd leave and Mao would stop actively trying to kill him. But since she'll never do that, he won't either.
Aarik Wrath chapter 9 . 7/28
This is likely profoundly late, and this story is using AU mechanics anyway, but from various side materials, Geass becomes stronger when used, grows weaker when not used, and it's power is completely unrelated to emotional state.

What Geass you get is (loosely, within the bounds of what Geass can do) based on what you wish for/want when you get it.

Lelouch wanted power, so he got absolute power over people, C.C. wanted love, so she got the power to be loved, Leila was only a six year old girl and wanted to help people understand each other so they'd stop fighting, and got the power to link peoples minds together (she's notable as pretty much the only person who is actually happy with her Geass power so far as I recall, actually, so it CAN happen, but she's also one of the extremely few people whose Geass is completely benign(it doesn't harm people or directly assist in harming people), so...), Marrybell had had her mind skullfucked her whole life by Charles, leaving her feeling like a mindless puppet, and she wished to become a real person like everyone else, and her Geass, being unable to unfuck her mind, makes everyone else a mindless puppet like her instead.

Geass is being granted a power that grants your wish in exchange for a promise. (Vaguely similar to mythological geas, sort of?)

But be careful what you wish for, or you just might get it. Just because you WISH for something doesn't mean you actually want it or will enjoy it when you get it, and since Geass can only grant mental powers, they tend to be rather clumsy in their interpretation.

Assuming we can take Leila from Akito and Rai from Lost Colours as canonical as far as basic power mechanics go, you can straight up weaken your Geass by just not using it for long enough.

Rai went from Geass Runaway, with his power always on like Mao, to regaining control, by just being put to sleep for (a few hundred) years, though it rapidly went out of control again after he woke back up.

Leila's contract was to not use her Geass at all until she was a grown up or she'd lose her power, and by the time she does use it, it's weakened from disuse so much it doesn't even glow red anymore, glowing blue instead, though it'll probably slowly turn red from use eventually, I assume, which I guess means a mid level Geass would be purple?

Given that, from what I recall of C.C.'s explanation, normal Geass Runaway is just that you use your Geass for something like normal, only then you can't turn it off, and that V.V. was nearby, because he talks to Suzaku right after SAZ, there is a heavy implication that the reason Lelouch's Geass suddenly went out of control is that V.V. used his code to force it to.

From what C.C. said after Euphy died, she was able to resist basically solely because her order utterly went against every fiber of her being, and even then, it amounted to basically nothing.

Nunnally was merely facing Charles Geass, which isn't absolute anyway and had had 8 years to wear off.
xfel chapter 24 . 7/27
I was thoroughly confused at first, when did this become a Death Note crossover? But no, Ohgi is just not very creative.

All in all, a good story with decent romance, good comedy, and a thorough divergence from canon.
xfel chapter 4 . 7/26
I’m celebrating Milly‘s goldfish! Poor guy...
FalconRukichi chapter 24 . 5/20
I've been missing this fanfic! Awesome chapters! Now jerboy already in his side, I wanna see Kallen kick Ohgi ass.
Lux Sumomo chapter 21 . 4/25
I think this story has depicted a situation for readers to rethink Lelouch's approach in protecting Nunnally: Lelouch is actually cutting Nunnally off from the other sibling without her expressed consent. This may be Lelouch's kindness to her, but in his own words in the canon, "forcing good intention on other people are no different than doing an evil deed". One can say that Lelouch's way of protecting Nunnally is "confinement", compared to Marianne and Charles' way of "abandonment". Makes you wonder whether Lelouch got away from it from the audience simply because he is the main character of the show and has too pretty of a face for people to objectively judge him.

I think this story is well-written and incorporate a good amount of innovation into the original canon storyline. I look forward to seeing more chapters soon.
Guest chapter 24 . 2/13
Great story
Dragonheart Of Ireland chapter 23 . 1/21
I misspoke when I said "...call Nunnally out for choosing people (in this case Schneizel and Cornelia)..." I forgot that Cornelia isn't in this chapter (it's been a while since I read this chapter I completely forget if she even knows if Lelouch is Zero or not). I was thinking about canon when I made my post. I should of just said Schneizel).
Dragonheart Of Ireland chapter 24 . 1/21
I wish (in the applicable fanfic) people (including Lelouch) would call Nunnally out for choosing people (in this case Schneizel and Cornelia) that abandoned her to die in Japan over Lelouch. Nunnally is very naive and a backstabber. Lelouch gave everything up for her and she abandons him at the drop of a hat.
chimera629 chapter 24 . 1/19
Really wanna see how she reconcile being with the people left her for dead and has done worse things than the brother she just turned against. Really he think he need to pay for what he did but was going to let ohgi and but and vileta care on even though neither are better than him and have infact been killing way before him
Darksenin chapter 24 . 1/19
Hey a new chapter,
I have hoped for so long that the story will continue, this is great,
I'm interested how Lelouch's friends and the Black Knights react now that they know Lelouch is Zero,
and how Kallen react on Ohgis treason and how Lelouch will thank her for her help with the rescue
hope you willcontinue fast and have a lot of fun and success
Nix chapter 24 . 1/17
Great chapter! I absolutely love how hypocrites are hypocrites in this one: the Brits are whining of accidental casualties, then imply the alternative of letting themselves do their Nazi thing; then Lelouch's butthurt over his daddy issues yet ultimately acts the same.
ryder77 chapter 24 . 1/17
Since when was Kallen a countess in this universe?
HubrisP chapter 24 . 1/16
Excellent work, as always. I wish I could write a Code Geass story of this calibur, a more slashy story, but a story nonetheless. Haha. Keep up the Great work!
