Reviews for Breaking of the Dam
shadowfireflame chapter 1 . 8/10
Wow, I really enjoyed this alternate take on that scene. I love all the relationship dynamics you explore here too between the different members of the Fellowship (minus Frodo/Sam/Boromir). Really interesting and lovely story.

I do love the deep bromance between them and when it's paired with a hurting Legolas, even better! Thank you!

Yo, so I was looking for some good bromance one shots and found this (I love it btw), and I read your AN. By any chance is that book of yours published? It sounds freaking awesome and I'd love to read it!

I do love a good bromance! I liked your gruff but caring Gimli, running in to make sure everything's okay. The way you've written Legolas' reaction to what he saw, and his thoughts about home and the quest, were absolutely fantastic. Aragorn falling asleep on Legolas is just too adorable!

So, I've gotta say, I'm a sucker for Aragorn and Legolas bromance, too, and I think you did it really well here without it being overdone. I love the friendship you have established between them, from the little nuances they know of each other, and the clear worry without (again) being overdone. Really nice balance!

I also really liked Gimli's role in this. The building friendship between them here is so sweet. But I do like how he doesn't want to show he's overly concerned. Really cute touch.

I also really liked how you had Gandalf and the established connection between him and Legolas. They clearly know each other and have for a long time, and he's also concerned without showing it too outwardly (because I don't think Legolas would appreciate it, lol). Nicely done! As were other members of the Fellowship's perspectives!

I think how you had Legolas' reaction to the palantir was accurately written. It would make sense to have him so affected because of Sauron's presence, and I liked the little touch with Elladan mentioned, too. And poor Legolas. Knowing his home and father are in danger while retaining his loyalty to Aragorn and the quest, not knowing where they'll end up. That's gotta gnaw away at him, but I think you have how he's feeling perfectly. He's torn, but he's not outwardly showing that, either. It makes sense that he wouldn't want to show how affected he is. Nice work with that!

And that little ending image with Aragorn falling asleep on Legolas. Priceless. That really made me smile.

Nice little oneshot here! Definitely looking forward to reading more of your work! :)

I loved this story. It's so original! And I'm always a sucker for Legolas angst.
Green Eyes and Blue Insanity chapter 1 . 2/22/2016

Cas42 chapter 1 . 2/1/2016
I loved this story! It was so well written and fun to read. It would be amazing if you wrote a fanfic similar to your first one about returning home after the war of the ring, but Legolas is reunited with belhadron. I think that would be cute! I love their friendship. Keep writing!
Agena K chapter 1 . 12/27/2015
A magnificent retelling of the Palantir scene. especially when Legolas explains to Gimli that since elves are tuned more to Sauron holding the Palantir was like standing a few meteres from him.
and to Gandalf and Aragorn, that He'd rather be here - but it's no- the Angst level was perfect.
