I hope it isn't strange to get a fic review uh, two and a half years after you last posted. Don't worry, I'm not asking for an update! Your author's note mentions two chapters left to go, but I found this a perfect final letter, since it matches up to the end of their two years apart on the show. I binge watched the whole show a month or so ago and have been reading endless fics - and have been very surprised that no one else seems to have seized on a chance for some epistolary fun! You caught their cadences perfectly - especially Jane's - and I really love that you had Lisbon write back too. It's an idea I was playing with right up until I stumbled upon this fic of yours. I adore the little details you added - especially the daffodils! Jane's rambling about cinnamon made me sad - another reviewer mentioned that the way s6 Lisbon was, she'd never have made sense of it, and they're probably right. s5 Lisbon might have though, and I'll just go on pretending she retained all that good sense!

Delightful! Exactly expresses how deeply Jane cares for Lisbon, after all, she soon topped his list of demands to Abbott.

I just now discovered this story, and I'm so glad I did. This is a lovely exposition of Jane and Lisbon's feelings over those 2 "lost years." The voices are true. I appreciate the imagery. Thank you for this, I now I have to follow so I can be alerted to the rest as it posts.

My goodness this is beautifully written, so evocative. If only Jane could bring himself to spell out what he was missing instead of circling the matter. So glad to read there are more chapters planned, you have really captured the essence of Jane.

That was beautiful. But it seems that the letters Jane written had no impact on her whatsoever based on the events that took place in s6. Yes it made her days more bearable but Jane's image in her head was getting worse. Ah well but this letter was so beautiful and moving except actual declaration of what's in his heart. Ah that letter was beautiful. How typical of Jane to lecture on nature, reference Prouse and talk of cinnamon, anything rather than what is dearest to his heart.

Sadly the way Lisbon was written in Season 6, Jane's meaning would have gone completely over her head.

You do a great job of conveying Jane's loneliness and regret. I'll be very sorry to see these chapters come to an end.

Surprisingly good! For some reason I thought this fic will be OOC and weird, but you totally blow me away. I can almost hear the letter word by word in Jane's voice. Your observation of Jane (and Lisbon) is spot on. Precise, moving and heart-warming, what's more to ask for? You are a really talented writer and I hope dearly that you never stop writing amazing fics for TM
