Oh, goodness. Sometimes a lie is much safer than the truth, but it doesn't always stay that way. It's good that at no point does Papyrus think Sans is trying to be cruel; he knows his brother loves him and only wants the best for him. Sans would probably have a hard time accepting help, too. Now I'm gonna go glue my heart back together.

I don't know if this is going to be a oneshot or not but I hope you write more! This is so good! I love how you characterize Papyrus. Too many people treat him as just a comic relief character, so it's nice to see something in his POV

Oh my god, this was amazing and wonderful and I am just so happy to see that you chose to write this from Papyrus' perspective. I mean, I enjoy anything and everything that you write, but you get their relationship so well. They care about each other, but they lie. Both of them. It's not just Sans. 1) They both want the other to be as happy as possible.
2) They both are willing to hide their own problems to ensure that their brother is as happy as possible.
3) Hiding their problems and suffering alone results in their brother also being miserable yet also not sure as to how to best approach the subject because their sibling is obviously uncomfortable with sharing.
You completely nailed the hurt that comes with knowing you're being lied to, but I'm glad Papyrus recognized that it was never because Sans didn't trust him. He just wanted to protect him.
