As other shipping suggestions, i was thinking in videogames girls characters, as kagome, ichigo and tohru are anime characters. So, as candidates i have two pairs of female characters of final fantasy and tales of series:

1. Ash x Aerith: Maybe in this story, after a battle against the team rocket, ash and pikachu ends also blast off by an explosion and both landed in the flowers of aerith, much like cloud in the original game. This would make that ash and aerith start to talk and both start to like each other. This shipping could be called "holy aura shipping".

2. Ash x Tifa: I know that you mentioned that you dislike the amourshipping by be overused, but i was thinking that maybe you could make a similar shipping as amourshipping, i mean, maybe in this story, Tifa would be the childhood friend of ash and both even developed certain crush between them, much like with serena in the anime. Then after some years later, ash would meet tifa again and both would travel together, rekindling their crush and future romance. I think this idea because considering that serena was the childhood friend of ash, while cloud was the childhood friend of tifa, could be appropiated that tifa and ash replaces serena and cloud respectively. This shipping could be called "Palletheim shipping", in reference to their hometowns, pallet town and Nibelheim.

3. Ash x Milla: Maybe would be similar like the way in that Jude met Milla in the beginning of tales of xillia, but this time, ash would replaced jude in the story and he would helps Milla when she and the great spirits would be attacked by the Kriesnic Lance. And with the time, both start to develops a crush. This shipping could be called "spirit of aura shipping".

4. Ash x Sophie: Basically ash would met sophie like asbel met her in tales of graces, and ash would invite sophie to travel with him, learning much things with ash, making that with the time, both develops a like each other. This shipping could be "Flower of aura shipping".

As another ideas to other one shot of ash with other girl, i have some suggestions:

1. Ash Ketchum x Kagome Higurashi: i think that could be interesting see a shipping between Ash with Kagome. Maybe if this story, Kagome had another argument with Inuyasha and she wants to return to her present home for a while, but by unknowns reasons, the portal ends sending her to pokemon world and while she was exploring, she is ambused by a packed of angry zangoose and by the suddenly attack, she lost her bow and arrows, leaving her defenseless, then ash appears and he rescue her with his pokemon, driving away the zangooses. Then ash nurses her and cares her, and in the process, kagome becames smitten by ash and the feeling becames reciprocated when ash get a crush in kagome by see her like a nice person and beautiful woman. The name of the shipping could be "Shikonmon shipping".

2. Ash Ketchum x Ichigo Momomiya: maybe during a battle in that ichigo was fighting alone in a islotated area, she is overwhelmed by the new chimera anima of Kisshu and it even leaves her badly hurted, to the point of almost lost conscious. But just when kisshu was about to finishes ichigo, ash's pikachu and his trainer appears and they fights against the chimera anima and defeats it, forcing to kisshu to retreats, then ash see to the badly injured ichigo and takes her to a safes place to nurses her. But due to the injuries, ichigo ends to returns to her normal human form and once that she awakes, she find this and that ash was witness of her secret identity, but ash relieves her to promises ichigo that he will keep her secret and that doesn't matter that she can transform in a cat-girl, to ash she is a normal girl with kind intentions. This causes that ichigo now harbors feelings with ash, not only by see him as a kind person to respect her secrets, but also by see him like a attractive man, making that she considers if ash could be a love interest of her. The shipping could be called "Poke Poke Mew shipping".

Ash Ketchum x Tohru: simply in this story, Kobayashi, the main character of the anime that have her name, would be replaced with Ash, and he would be whom would saves the life of Tohru to removes the divine giant sword to use his aura powers, this would make that Tohru develops romantic feelings toward the pokemon trainer, to the point of event try to prove if the pokeballs can works with her to be a dragon, as she wants to belongs to ash to be with him forever. The shipping could be called "Dracoketchum shipping".

We could considers the shipping of Ash x Alexis as "PokeLisk shipping", as a portmanteu of Pokemon Trainer as Ash Ketchum, and a Obelisk Blue as Alexis Rhodes.

Anyway, i really like this shipping, because by some reason, i always imagine a romance between Ash and Alexis by a dream that i had in that Ash was the boyfriend of Alexis. Don't ask me much details about the dream, but after this, i was thinking that this characters could be a good couple, especially as Ash can have certain similarities with Jaden in terms of personality and stubborness, making him the type of Alexis.

Could we see a pokemon and equestria girls crossover AshXTwilight story where ash and twilight were bestest friends since childhood in the equestria region they dream of becoming pokemon masters. Ash is smarter and has aura while twilight has magic hope you could do this challenge that would be awesome.
