Cardin sure loves exclamation points.

This is a pretty amazing concept. It's clever to use that kind of dare to help two characters who seem to not like each other get along and at least start to tolerate each other's presence and get to know each other better. I found myself laughing at their internal monologues and silent competitiveness, and Velvet's suspicions in the beginning that Cardin might be lying is perfectly understandable if he did use to bully her.

Lastly - it's impressive they lasted for a little over two months of no talking. That's three meals a day! Anyone else would've brought another distraction to ignore the other person, so really, hats off to these two for not even doing that

So an inciting incident would help a bit. A reason Cardin is trying to change. Also CFVY's strange absence should be a brief scene as well. Maybe Coco forcing Velvet to deal with a bully without hiding behind her Teammates.

Everything else is very solid. Waffle forts, and Jaune being excellent character moments. Expanding into a longer story could be really fun. Lots of good dynamics and tensions to play with, I think Yaz glaring down at Cardin as he asks Velvet to the dance. Velvet having to cancel, as CFVY is forced to deploy the week before the dance. Lot's of fun things to play with, also Cardin changing is always nice, as I like redemption arcs more than those of catharsis.

Coco and Neptune, as I think they would have a hysterical dynamic. Thanks for the read. I quite enjoyed it.

Normally when I think of the CardinXVelvet ship, I think, "Ew, no, he BULLIED her! Any relationship that they might have with each other would just be abusive."
But let me tell you something, if what happened in this fic of yours ever happened in canon... I would ship it so hard.
