Ha, nice little one-shot to tide us over until your new chapter of "Something Good" is posted. To clarify- I love your writing and I don't mean that to sound like this is some kind of filler; it's actually a charming glimpse into an AU version of Vauseman and how they met. Piper is her rambling, foot-in-mouth, intelligent, slightly shy self, and Alex is her seductive, witty, well-read self. Oh, and did I mention that she's a doctor in this one? Yeah...like we need any more convincing that she's a keeper lol.

It's a small thing to mention, but I *really* like the way you describe physical gestures. You've done it in your other fics, but I wanted to mention it in this one, too. For example, you have "Alex wiggling her fingers, indicat(ing) for Piper to take her hands" after Piper falls, and also Alex "tapp(ing) both hands on her knees, motioning to Piper to raise her foot" when she's trying to check her injury. These are such minor details, but they really give one a visual sense of what is going on...and I love that in a fic.

And you also have the much-welcomed Vauseman banter here, but also a tinge of sadness in Piper's comment about Alex being "the first person to be nice to (her) today"...something that Alex is sensitive enough to notice. It'd be nice to find out why Piper is having such a hard time of it, but as someone else said, this could stand alone as a fluffy one-shot. Thanks again for the fic!
