This was so good!

The first thing that made me happy: Zack! (And you spelled his name right.) I quite liked him and was sad how he exited the show, hoping he would someday return. So this was kind of like a mini-return of sorts for me. :D

It was very fitting for Brennan to lose track of time and thus her birthday. It was even more fitting that she didn't think it was a big deal the way most people would have thought, but only a bit unsettled. I always chuckle when Brennan exhibits typical emotions towards other people such as hope and longing and surprise and disappointment, but in a logical and organized manner, the way she felt about Booth making an appearance for her birthday.

The breakfast dialogue was really in character! I could totally imagine Booth saying that line about grapefruit in his exact voice in my head. But the best part was how Brennan sniffed before she conceded to breakfast. That's very her! She does a very subtle sniff and head raise. You're so observant.

I liked the snappy banter leading up to the present reveal. I've missed how straight-forward Brennan can be. "She nodded, though his question had been vague, imprecise, and repetitive." HA! That made me laugh out loud, it's my favourite line in the story. Very Brennan.

I had no idea why the story was called "X-Ray" in the beginning, but when I read "...an adult male..." it all sunk in. What a great birthday gift idea! I've never read anything like this out of the likely thousands of Bones fanfics I've read, so kudos to you for your creativity and originality. You also get points for naming more than 20 bones in 7 back-to-back sentences without it sounding boring or like a list. Then you described one of my favourite things about the show - Brennan learning about all the little things that makes someone unique from just looking at their bones. It's a very special things only found on this show.

The end was very sweet. I liked how meaningful the gift was, how Booth admitted to sharing more about himself to Brennan. Why have you been hiding this for so long? It was short and sweet and very thoughtful, a great read. Thanks for pulling this out from the archives! :)

I am a relatively new watcher to Bones, caught up through Netflix, but it seems this is the couple I met and love to watch today.

That was nice. I love the intensity Brennan exudes while she's reading Bones and have no doubt she'd have loved to get a gift like this of Booth. Thanks for dusting this off and posting it.

OMG ... i've got a massive lump stuck in my throat...this was a truly mesmerizing fic, so beautifully & well scripted.

i would never have been able to so perfectly worded a request, but if i were able to get a direct line to the writers of the show, i'd av begged & done just about 'anything' to av had this as an actual scene in the show (anywhere along any of the seasons)...
it would've (in my mind at least) av shown any of the annoying & truly rude people out there whom disrespect & put down bren, how they just don't see her truly awesome abilities, her absolute dedication to get the 'bones' speak to her, as you showed us in this fic, whilst also showing how 'ange & booth' see how truly (massive) bren's heart & soul is.
you also beautifully showed how in awe & utter amazement 'booth', also 'ange', continue to be in their friend / colleague's abilities.

i can't help it...so i'll say it again...omg! love this fic, thank you very much for sharing it...
