This was awesome. Gah, now I'm REALLY wondering if Marik read it or not. LOTS OF QUESTIONS.
(Then again, I suppose Bakura probably feels the same way.)
Anyway, this was just great. It was a really good look at the relationship Bakura and Marik share- even if it is really just Bakura's relationship with Marik and not vice-versa. Still, you also did an awesome job of portraying what the friendship/relationship/acquaintanceship is like on Marik's side through what Bakura thinks about it, even though Marik didn't speak.
Bakura's voice was done perfectly. He was kind of nervously wordy, like I'd expect him to be with his slightly-shy and awkward personality- kind of like, "I don't really know how to say what I want to say, so I'm just going to keep talking about trivial things so I can stall about getting around to the difficult stuff." That's what it seemed like to me, anyway. And he seemed strangely and refreshingly honest- like he knew that this might be the last time he might talk to Marik, so he wasn't holding anything back. (While still being perfectly polite and humble about it, of course.)
Also, yay! He mentions writing letters to his dead sister. I always loved that aspect of Bakura's character, and I love when writers find ways to incorporate into into fics. I also think he might have mentioned writing letters to some other dead people too ("I had to get a little creative with how to reach out to let them know"). That makes sense: he always had been into the occult, and he seems to write letters to most of the people he's lost (I don't know whether it's canon that he writes letters to both his sister and his mother, but I always assumed he did.)
Oh, this was an awesome little fic. It makes me curious: did Marik write back? And what did Bakura's letter to the dead Spirit look like? I'm kind of secretly hoping you might write these... *hint hint*
Though I'm not saying you have to write those or anything- I'm fine with the fic as it is. I'm just saying that if you do choose to write it, I'll definitely read it.
This was really well-written, and your take on the characters and their relationships is very interesting and very in-character and close to canon. I really loved it.

Awwwww. I really, really love this! You write in his voice so well i heard the whole thing in Ryo's voice, run-on sentences and all! He's really a good person :) I hope Marik reads it and writes back!
