I actually like the idea that Hermione didn't/doesn't know a lot of stuff about the wizarding world. This is just like a foreigner migrating to another place and even with all the books that person had read about the place, there will always be more that he or she does not know about it. It may sound stupid but it's really not. That's just how life isa journey of learning until we can't any more.
