Whoo series 4! Can't wait to see how the consequences to Baron's goody-two-shoes character get addressed next series :D

This was so well written and so good especially with the old foes returning and Louise's painting world which is a cool concept but - ExCUSE YOU how dare you do this to my heart?! Just leave me donuts on my doorstep. (At least i wont have to wait a year for series 4)

Oh no. Ohhh no. No nonononono. There is no way this will end well. But i am weak for games and manipulation and chess in stories so all the points for that. But still. Louise in all her evil glory is wonderfully sinister and I'm very scared for all of the bureau.

and the fact that Haru's gonna run out of pawns to sacrifice at some point and may have to make a choice she isn't going to like...

So good! Ashdhsdkdfdf the drama! the showdown with Duke was so tense! Haru probably would've shot him if Baron hadn't been there to talk her down from it. 'm glad everyone made it out in the end, but Baron raises some good questions: will Haru want to become who she's turning into if she stays with the bureau? Heck, will she even /stay/ with the bureau? And how are they going to deal with all those feelings? Guess I'll find out.

"An accident is, say, walking into a lamp post" I feel very called out by this line for reasons XD

Oh this case is shaping up to be lots of fun. It's hilarious to see Muta and Toto switch bodies and still shading each other XD And the mind link with Haru and Baron... there's no way that can possibly come back to bite them at all... *holds up sarcasm sign* though it is fun to read them hearing each others thoughts. Like about how Baron never has plans, he just improvises a lot.

also oh damn Tsuge knows about her secret life now... wasn't expecting that!

And they've found Duke! I just know this isn't going to end well...

okay I admit I laughed because shirtless Baron. Fanservice? XD Poor Haru getting flustered. And pfft Muta calling attention to her oh dear XD

I'm not familiar with FNAF at all so this feels a bit like Night at the Museum meets the cybermen meets nightmare fuel. Which is terrifying but I'd find it more so terrifying if I had knowledge of FNAF. I should rectify that.

oh I love how consequences is a theme that keeps popping up in the series and all the angst that carries. Baron is clearly still affected by what happened and trying his best but it's gotta be so hard. For him. Everyone around him. It'll take so much time to get. past that.

oh god I don't think I'm ready for the truth Baron is about to tell her... I think he knows much more than he let's on and it'll end so badly... maybe not now but soon...

also how dare you make Haru cry like that Baron.

I'm glad the kids souls found peace in the end because that must have been scary. Glad Haru could help them like that.

oh I like the gramophone touch with the scarred recordoh dear i don't like how Baron zoned out there at all. CAP must still be fresh in his mind and that's definitely affected him even in small ways like this. it makes sense he is a bit traumatised still.

also ohh there's lots of unspoken things there like how Baron blames. himself for hurting her by letting her run with the bureau and her wanting to. There's no way that'll come up later...

oh phew they made it though I expect they'll all gonna be living another horror movie of a case. I can't wait! great chapter.

Okay the heaviness of that "they're always less" line after they suffer in the prison is just SO well done. And Ah so the prison is a creation! I'd theorised it was just a place but i was wrong. The concept of a prisn that corrects people based on their own flaws and memories is excellent and I may have to borrow it sometime ;) And I really liked Haru's conversation with CAP about purpose and the sense of self. A part of being human i feel is finding our own path in life and our own purpose and i suppose a lot of Creations would struggle with reconciling that with what they were made to do. Great case. Now i have to go sit with my feelings about it. I wonder if we will find out who sent the package though...

Ohhh the suspense. Haru desperately searching for Baron through his files trying to get any lead she can and trying to reign Toto and Muta into line... and probably having a fresh appreciation for what Baron does while she's at it. I have a feeling Louise is the perpetrator here as she's been trying to keep him from helping people and being well, Baron. It all seems so innocent and sweet but I just have a feeling it'll get very sinister soon.
Haru and Co. need to hurry to Absolem and find him before things get sinister. Great chapter. All the suspense. And a nice look at (possibly) Baron's history too :)

:D It may be just me but this whole chapter read like an episode of Galavant, with the same level of chaotic bureau energy XD Especially as they all amble through the rest of the book's story to defeat the dragon and save the princess and gripe and complain and bicker their way along through it. The antics at the start were fun too. Poor Baron, brought low by his own hubris XD i bet he is having an experience in a normal cat body instead of his standard creation form. He's alot less capable of dramatics in this form which is probably why he's so grouchy lol. This was such a fun case to read. I expected some angst butthis is light and fluffier. (I came to be attacked but I'm having a good fun time right now :D) All the cliche's are good in the book but the bureau's reaction to them just make this. And Haru having to be in charge of everyone is always good to read. I'll be sure to keep reading :)

Of course she would remember Baron and his brush with the suspicious humans... of course. For angst purposes (which makes the story that much more high stakes). And Haru being left with the children reminding her of herself and Hiromi... its cute but at the same time slightly unsettling because I just know things are going to get a lot worse for everyone.

Oh man the “show people different things so they end up divided among themselves” tactic. As a horror enthusiast I appreciate this. And the dolls are just unsettling in and of themselves here.

Okay now im imagning Haru doing the loves-me/loves-me-not game XD [EDIT: okay i got that just in a much darker way]. Haru sweetie its not as complicated as you think it is... if you can ignore the mortal/immortal angst. The gallery itself and the semi-sentient-creations gave this a lovely twist of surrealism and made it just the right level of unsettling. Unexpected twist of having Mary be the impostor among them ultimitely working for her own ends.

And the roses and Baron (almost) throwing his life away for her – ESCUSE YOU HOW DARE YOU MAKE ME FEEL THESE THINGS?!

On a side note I will have to check out this Ib game. Great case :)

I am always here for Muta and Haru being sassy :D I love it.
Also knowing one of the case titles for series 5 is “one of our dinosaurs is missing” the dinosaur line from Michael feels a bit like foreshadowing.

Ah of course Toto and Muta would sneak in and cause fuss XD and I always enjoy puns, so Haru's 'need a hand?' line made me smile.

This all feels very sinister, especially with the writing on the walls and the changing of the structure of the building. It reminds me a bit of Cadaverous house from Skuldugerry Pleasant a little bit. Everything designed to trip you up and throw you off and scare you. And oh man, Haru's life being linked to one of the most fragile flowers in the gardening world... thats not dire at all nope.

Good lord the Ladies are terrifying. Hope they can all escape in one piece.

The writing saying not to kill it... is really terrifyingly sinister. Giving me goosebumps here.
Split up. Yes. Sensible. What could possibly go wrong?

As always I love haru and hiromis sass :) and I knew someone would ask her Why Michael. And it makes sense it's Muta. He's headstrong and speaks his mind. He's right though they have been dancing around this for years. It's gotta be frustrating for him. (I can totally imagine Muta groaning and going 'oh just kiss already!"

And oh god being buried alive is a horrible way to go. But I am enjoying Baron angsting over saving her. "Not when I could have protected her" just come for me feelings why don't you with that entire section.
Barons relief that she's safe and his desperation and just... so many feels as he just holds her.

"Very much alive and complaining" hahaha I like that.

I never thought of how Haru got down roof at the end of the film and love how she just shades Baron about that.

"Don't ever do something like that again." Is this payback for Fisher? Because it's working.

Oh man I'm having inuyasha flashbacks with the "sit boy!" And of course Baron carries her dramatically because he is Baron. Nice chapter wonder how they're gonna cope with their new creation monster pet :)

Pfft, is this something inspired by Haru being late for everything including her own funeral? XD

And ohhhh, Hiromi is definitely getting suspicious of where she goes now. (firstly I assume because only crazy people go running before work, and secondly because one warms down after a run, not up). And I feel Haru on existing on hardly any sleep, its always a kicker the next day especially if it's work day. But she takes it all in her stride, which makes me smile, until I remember that physically its impossible for her to keep up with the bureau and sooner or later somethings gotta give... mmm yeah. I'll put that thought aside for now.

I like how you give us snippets of Haru's ordinary life where she isn't being chased by yetis, or running for her life, or being traumatised. It's just really nice to see her smile and laugh and be relaxed. Even if Tippi is causing a ruckus.

Hiromi does not need a sarcasm sign I see XD You know I love their friendship and the sass they throw at each other. But now I have questions that need answers.

“Everything completely under control” hmm I've heard that before Baron...

I hadn't thought about them documenting every case but it makes sense. Though I don't think she should look at her own file. Some mysteries are best left as mysteries.

Mmmm why do I get the feeling Baron becoming a complete human would come at a mighty high price after this whole section. Surprising how he has reconsidered being human, but thats just a show of how much time has passed since that incident.

The whole section with Baron taking the magic out is gonna have consequences isn't it? I can tell. Just letting it bounce around in the world is surely coming back to bite them all in the butts. I suspect everyone the magic has touched will be affected somehow – especially Baron as he has to tear out some of his own magic to get rid of it. This will be interesting indeed.

Ohhh. Ohhh no. This is gonna be bad for the Bureau. Creations springing to life because of the magic in the world now. This is great so far!

You are absolute EVIL OH MY GOD.

I got on this bandwagon way after the fact, so I knew Haru wasn't going to have a happy ending here. But I wasn't expecting THIS! My heart hurts and I can only hope they somehow return her soul to her body in the next series.

You really fooled us for a while though. The start of this series was a lot lighter, despite the multiple near death experiences and horror cases. I mean, Baron as a kitten? And the LASER pointer? I DIED of laughter! There was even some humor at the worst of times; I LOVED the shirtless Baron incident. That was utter gold. I actually wish I could have seen it myself lol

But damn all of this could have been avoided if that magic hadn't hitchhiked in Hiromi. Actually, it wouldn't have been so bad if the lapis lazuli had been used to extract the magic. I know Baron hadn't been expecting so much resistance, but it's better to be over prepared. Then again, I doubt he would've been able to stop the spell midway and pull out the stone.

The komainu case was rather intense as one of the first cases. Haru came way too close to death in that one. I'm actually not surprised that Baron cried while digging her out; he already knew at that point that Haru wouldn't make it through one of their cases. It's kinda funny though how they adopted the statue. The guy seriously deserves a name. I wonder how he'll react to Haru's absence...

I wish the other Creations had happier endings though. Like Mary and the manananggal. Neither asked for their fate and they suffered because of their Artisans. Unfortunately, they were beyond reason. Maybe things could have gone differently, if emotions weren't high and there was time to talk. But then again, Mary couldn't be talked down. Maybe if she had been found earlier.

Which reminds me of CAP. It seems weird to say this about a millennia old sentient prison, but the poor thing deserves better. He may not have been taught right from wrong, but I commend him for developing a personality in such dismal conditions. I really hope the Bureau helps him out in somehow, even if it only happens off the books.

Btw I loved the meta with Absolon. That was truly brilliant! His story is so sad, but it seems fitting that he is one of the only Wonderland inhabitants capable of accessing his memory without becoming violent.

But really, in terms of that case, why does someone have to be traumatized in each of these stories? It's like Haru and Baron are taking turns, and each turn is worse than the last. At least these events bring our main two closer together. I would have something negative to say if the trauma was only done for shock factor.

I mean, the lengths they go to for each other are proof of their feelings. I only wish Haru realised her denial sooner. Now she's off who knows where with two hurt love interests. But I'm glad she made the decision to step back from relationships, it wouldn't have been fair to either Baron or Michael if she dumped the latter to date the former.

Now, as for the climax of this story, I already mentioned that you're evil. But the Duke and Louise? They are the WORST. How can they do something so fowl to someone who never wronged them? They only targeted her because of Baron. Although I'm not sure Baron was right to seal away Louise. Maybe she and Duke had already committed atrocities separately, so he used that to validate his actions? Otherwise, I don't think was right of him to imprison her if she hadn't done anything. Maybe he should have waited to see how things played out with the two in a relationship.

One last thing: is it possible for Duke and Baron to reunite into a single Creation? It just seems wrong that Baron rejected a part of himself like that. Reminds me too much of Kami and Piccolo from DBZ. Given the similarities, is it also possible for Duke to reform? Or Louise for that matter? As much as I hate them now, it would be interesting to see them struggle to become better people.

Oh dear lord I wrote an essay. And there are still a few things I forgot to mention! But at least I covered all the important bits lol
