Not going to dwell too much on SPaG, seeing as I already have – your main problems in that regard are comma use and direct speech, as well as capitalization.

Blah, blah, blah, time travel, no one cares how. It happened! On with the story! :D

Now, first thing is that James Potter is my favourite HP character. So, I am glad to see him portrayed positively, because unless I’m reading a Jily a lot of people (you know which kind) write him as a jock, a bully and a complete ass-hat, completely ignoring pretty much everything else we know about him, especially how loyal he was to his friends, how he hated the Dark Arts and how he was utterly un-prejudiced, refusing to even say the word ‘mudblood’. That being said, he is also not a saint. I attribute this to Hermione being in love, but he’s not nearly as perfect as she sees him. He was arrogant, reckless, vain, a bit of an ass, and full of himself, especially at that age. I like how she describes him as having , major traits of all her previous crushes, though, and I agree with him possessing those particular ones (though why are half of them capitalized?).

When it comes to the portrayal of the actual relationship between them, I actually really like it, because it’s very similar to the Gally/Red fairly tale project :D She’s bookish and intellectual but by no means a wallflower, and he’s joke-y and a prankster, but tries to bring out the best in everyone and cares very deeply about his friends. It makes for a nice balance of things, and I like how he helps her in a unique for him way. Though it’s with pranks, he’s still trying to do a good thing for her, and they’re not malicious in any way. The thing with the smiles is also a nice touch, because I’ve noticed that some people are like that in RL, having a different one for different people.

The kiss scene was cute, though I really wish you’d expanded on it a little bit. Like, I would love to hear the entirety of James alphabetical insults :D Of course, with him repeating things like that and ending them in a question, I suppose he did feel the same, but Hermione just kind of shot him down with the ‘just friends’ thing. Really liked the closing line too, I think a lot of people have felt that way at one point or another.

In conclusion, it was a cute piece, but I do recommend going over it for SPaG.
