Roland's Blade chapter 20 . 8/8/2019 eh I got bored of the story, I outtie |
Roland's Blade chapter 19 . 8/8/2019 mhmm, I'm definitely seeing romance as a minor subplot. |
Roland's Blade chapter 2 . 8/8/2019 Is the story still being continued? |
Radmar chapter 24 . 5/19/2019 These endless PoV changes annoy the crap out of me. Not only I don't get PoV of character I care about very often, but characters that get most screen time are bad guys. I get it, it's necessary for readers to know what's happening, but when I get mostly bad guy's PoV for three chapters in a row, there is something wrong. It's like author is trying to accomplish too much and actual story dissolves in the process. I also feel like all that screen time bad guys got didn't accomplish all that much. I still don't know how exactly they disabled that shield, for example. On the other hand, when some random white fang's grunt sneezes on the other side of the world, I immediately know. Frustrating. It might just be that the story isn't finished yet, though, so I don't know all connections. I dunno. I still found some of these PoVs baffling as to their purpose. That's my main complain. I didn't appreciate that massive time skip either. It seems that author decided to take flashback-ish approach. That's fine. It just feels jarring. There might not be better alternative, though. I understand that. I love relevant parts about Jaune and team. It's not often that author writes exactly what stories I like to read that accurately. I love Survival elements, and there are a lot of good ones (two). Relationship between Ruby and Jaune was also very good. Jealousy from Ruby was unexpected and very welcome, especially when she doesn't realize that yet. How cute and heartwarming. Character death is another plus. I don't see that very often (Does anyone know any good Mass Effect fics with this theme?). It makes the story more serious. And dark. Speaking of dark, I have an issue with this Lovcraftian theme. Why aren't normal Grimm like that? If these underground Grimm are somehow special, it might be better to either transfer this Lovcraftian quality to normal Grimm too, or make Jaune and Ruby discover new ancient species of monsters. Despite some minor grammar errors, I enjoyed myself reading the story. It's only lack of further content and PoV issue mentioned above that drags it down. 60%. |
77coke chapter 24 . 11/12/2018 Rip I forget RWBY had a game haven’t played it in years. As for the chapter I like the improvements you done to it although what happen to the information of the light powered people and dark power people? |
77coke chapter 23 . 11/7/2018 So are you rewriting act 3 because I remember the bit of Jaune and Ruby having light and dark power respectively that could kill each other if use reckless |
Tusk Act IV chapter 23 . 11/7/2018 Good to see you're back. Kinda surprised it just sorta ended here but I get your reasonnigs. Rewriting stuff sucks. I do like how you've emphasized just how bad Breach was when in the show it felt more like less than an hour of chaos before Gynda sealed the hole. I've always liked how this story treaded on a darker path of the show. Just enough to be realistic for a fictional world. |
kilerog chapter 24 . 5/21/2018 Just finished reading the story, and I have to say I've really enjoyed it so far. I hope you continue to add to it in the future. You really managed to capture how dangerous and frightening the Grimm can be. It's something sadly lacking in the source material itself where all-too-often the soulless despair-seeking monsters which have been humanity's bane come off as little more than mooks for the characters to scythe through. Here though, it is very much conceivable why the Grimm are such a huge threat. One can appreciate all the losses and hardships that Huntsmen and Huntresses had to go through in order to face off against this enemy. I also enjoy the look into characters' motivations and what drives them. |
kaiokenkaizer chapter 10 . 1/30/2018 I'm honestly confused about this chapter. While it had it's good moments, especially the fight scenes and all the insights into Faunus behaviour, the scene changes felt a bit abrupt. You might want to work on that aspect. Overall, it was a very informative chapter. Good Day |
kaiokenkaizer chapter 8 . 1/30/2018 Great chapter, although the self-depreciation sure is difficult and irritating to read. I hope Jaune realises it is time to nut up or shut up ASAP. Good Day |
kaiokenkaizer chapter 5 . 1/30/2018 You're AN pretty much destroyed any enthusiasm I had for reading the rest of this fic. I honestly don't understand why authors keep telling their audience that a certain character will/won't be OP. When you do so, it removes all elements of suspense with regards to that characters' growth. What is the point of reading a fic when you already know how strong the characters will end up? Another thing that bugs me is the fact that quite a few authors in the RWBY genre seem to think that just because Jaune unlocked his Aura at a later point in time than the other characters, he can't be as strong as them. What no one seems to ever think about is the fact that a person's Aura is the power of their soul and I am pretty sure that someone like Jaune, who wishes to be as strong as possible so that he can "save the world" or "be the best Hunter" would grow really fast as his Aura would literally be pushing him to get stronger and vice-versa. Overall, the premise of this story is unique and quite a good one, but that AN made it seem that you will be putting a ceiling over how strong Jaune can grow. Good Day |
Guest chapter 19 . 1/11/2018 If you make his semblance being a living lamp, I will bust my gut laughing |
Guest chapter 14 . 1/11/2018 Jaune with a shotgun, I could live with that lol, espe ially if it had a transformation into like a pike or lance |
Guest chapter 7 . 1/11/2018 Little late the game, but I noticed you all the worst conflict in one team, and kinda wanna see how you realistically resolve the two mutual dislikes, and discomfort on team winterborne |
Victorules chapter 23 . 1/11/2018 It all felt very Starcraft and Lord of the Rings-y, and I really liked it. Good to see you back. |
