Haha! Clever clever Gwaine! I've always wondered if he had figured out in the end that Merlin had magic. After all, he rode to the crystal cave with him, no questions asked.. The cave and gold reminded me a little of the Pirates of the Caribbean - Curse of the Black Pearl, but its a good scary element to have, especially as you said, it was for Halloween~

Well... wow. Glad I waited till it got finished, the suspense was big there!
A very interesting idea, to have Merlin slowly fade and be out of sync with the rest of the world, and he had brought back a vengeful ghost with him.. quite the risk taker too, to do magic in front of or so close to the knights and Arthur like that, but it's all good in the effect of desperation and rushed decisions. The change of gold into bones was quite effective, I imagined it all bright and rich, and it suddenly turned to rags and bones. Nicely done..
