Wow, beautiful story! It's touching and meaningful and deep and just ... ahhh. Perfect length, too - you drew out the angst between them just long enough to be realistic and not so long that it became insufferable, and you crafted a truly amazing relationship between Illya and Napoleon. Great job!

Okay there's so much feels. I love it. I really love it. It's my first fiction for A Man From U.N.C.L.E. and I can say that this was the best introduction ever. Wonderful, I love Napoleon's backstory so much. Wow.

Wow. An amazing piece. I liked all the different timelines thrown in their that delved into Solo's past (his first love), then all the things in his relationship with Illya, and finally, allowing himself that second love. A great story.

I like the way you wrote the story in segments and layers, brush stroke after brush stroke.

Your story felt a bit like a quick brushed acrylic painting at the beginning with the switching between the past and the present.

Eventually it started to smoothen out into an oil artwork, all fleshed out with their motives and complex push and pull, but never thick enough too feel like a chiaroscuro.

Eventually the story felt less like you were adding layers into their relationship, but more like you were peeling it back, peeling it away to the core of their bond which in the end turned the story into a bit of a watercolour. Light and vaguely nostalgic.

I've become unnecessarily flamboyant with my review but it's probably because I've not found a story about Illya and Napolean that actually addressed their characters well.

So thank you for that.

Yes! This whole time I've been waiting !and wishing and hoping that Illya wouldn't give up on him! This is a fantastic story - this chapter has done such a wonderful job detailing the emotional struggle on both sides. Keep up the good work - I'm excited to keep reading this story!
