Despite the comedic snark about Lake Michigan, and being near-tears throughout half the story, all I can hear reverbing in my head is Becky's "iawesome!/i"

I was surprisingly okay with Gabe/Cas. I think because it's sort of "off screen" that it isn't awkward. I can also see Gabe being the type to tell their husband to move on and even point out hot guys. Gabe is just awesome like that. I loved the Claire interaction too. She was just too sweet.

Now the sex between Cas & Dean. For not super smutty, it was freaking HOT! Written in a way that it created a very appealing mental image. Excellent job.

Great story! :) It was funny (but not ridiculous) and sweet (but not trashy) and hot (but not too much)... All in one. Also, the length is ideal (in my opinion).

I would love to read a sequel, but it can stand alone as well. It's up to you to decide, of course.

Gabe/Cas seemed a bit weird to me at first, because I had assumed that they were brothers (as they usually are in the stories I read), but when I thought about it, it kind of made sense. I don't think I want to read a story with this as the actual (current) pairing, but for flashbacks it was actually nice.

And I totally agree with what you said about Cas' past relationship being with someone who's nice to him. As they are usually written, I would have hated to see Michael or Balthazar instead of Gabriel.

I am a hopeless Sabriel girl and I actually kind of loved the Gabriel and Cas paring. Its not my favorite idea but I agree that it would be healthy and compatible. I loved it, as always. Until next time, happy life my friend.

Gabe/Cas is a little weird to me, but just because I think of them as brothers. There's already love and affection there, so if they *aren't* brothers, it shouldn't be weird. But it kind of reminds me of that part in the Very Brady Sequel when Greg and Marsha realize they aren't really brother and sister and all kinds of awkward happens. (I fucking love that movie.)
I also can't help but think what a difficult two weeks it would be for them both to be wildly attracted to each other, but wearing wetsuits the whole time. :)

Damn Dean, work that wet suit ;) Gabe/Cas wasn't all that weird to me, and it probably helped that it was just in flashbacks. Loved Claire, the little schemer. Great story!
