| Guest chapter 6 . 12/23/2017 I love the whole undead castaway concept... It emphasizes the fact that vampiric abilities are not always an advantage over being human. TVD removed too many vampire weaknesses, which hindered character development. On the show, Caroline only focused on the fact that she was no longer weak, which never made any sense as she was victimized and violated far more as a vampire. Instead of facing death, she's facing a desiccated, painful existence (like a painful vegetative state), the choice of suicide when she literally thought she had eternity, or potentially far worse in that cave. I'd like to see how she deals with that. Loving the Kennett, always thought Bonnie needed somebody with a sense of humor and/or personality as the writers mostly denied her either. Finally, leaving out some back story can leave you flexibility later. Just because its fan fiction doesn't mean it has to have a 5k word summary of the show. Leaving it out now could help you tie in points later without having to write around the previous summary, which could get tedious; I think that's a smart omission on your part. |
