You know, I can't tell if Damon and Stefan have just been at odds so long that they can't even share a friend without starting a jealous tug of war or if Stefan has deeper feelings for Amelia than even he realizes and Damon is suspicious enough of the possibility that they are fighting over her like she's Elena. Which...good for Amelia, haha. I never thought I'd say this, but Damon and Stefan's jealous spats over her are endlessly entertaining in and of themselves (it's cute how confused she is as well) and I could not be happier at the idea that someone is finally taking attention away from perfect Elena. If they are going to both be into a girl it should at least be someone worthy. Regardless of what's going on (I admit to wishing I had more insight into Stefan and Damon's thoughts so I would know what they were thinking during those confrontations), I really enjoy both of their interactions with her separately, and together. She is so good for both of them! Giving Damon the kind of unconditional love (even when she is rightfully pissed) that he so desperately needs and giving Stefan the kind of unconditional understanding that he so desperately needs. He even admits in this chapter that he's afraid to be honest with his own girlfriend because she would judge him! Why would you date someone you can't be completely real with? What is the point of that kind of intimate relationship if not to be known, accepted, and then loved unconditionally for who you are in your entirety? Not to mention I don't think I've ever seen Elena make Stefan laugh even once in this story. The only time he seems genuinely amused is when he's around Amelia. He needs to go home and rethink all his life choices.

Also, Bonnie needs to check herself. At the beginning of the story, she says Bonnie is her only friend besides Damon and regardless of Bonnie's intentions...her friend almost died in a fire because of her choices. She has every right to make them...just like Amelia has ever right to never trust her again. That is saying nothing of John...her parent...who deliberately and maliciously left her to die. That's enough to give me nightmares! I'm trying to imagine ANY circumstance in which one of my parents would make the choice to let me burn to death for any reason and I can't come up with one. It's totally insane. Amelia is some kind of saint for not finishing him off when he was not the floor bleeding out.

I'm curious how closely you are going to stick to the story lines of the show. I was thinking about this with the other one too...it seems like if small changes have a ripple effect, at some point everything would end up being very different from the show we saw. Amelia is making a huge impact on peoples lives and these people aren't who they were on the show because of their experiences and relationships with her.

ANYWAY, I read your other story first but this one is totally different and fresh. I am just as excited to see where you take this one and I hope you update it soon!

Another fantastic chapter! Please update soon! I love this fic! And how awesome would it be for Amelia to have a past with one of the Originals (not a romantic history, but a friendly history because I think this fic is going in the Amelia/Damon direction)! Maybe she could somehow have telepathic thoughts with a daggered Rebekah or Kol and think that she had an imaginary friend as a child because Klaus was in America at the time of her childhood, but then moves when she was about 11 or maybe she could have dreams bout the daggered Original but forget about them in the morning until she meets someone of Mikaelson blood i.e. Elijah or Klaus. This story is really good and Amelia is such a fantastic character! Can't wait to see how she deals with the Katherine drama and the arrival of the Originals. Kind of want her to get along the them because they could use a good friend like her.
