I didn't really like the direction this fic took. You started off showing us an illicit, red-hot affair, then lost the guts to make your main characters into bad people and spent the rest of the fic trying to mitigate their actions. Why shouldn't we be mad at Sasuke and Naruto? They ARE bad people, no matter how you try to retcon it.

In the first couple of chapters, Naruto was an absolutely shameless homewrecker. He KNEW Sasuke was married, yet he flirted with him every chance he got and initiated the affair by stripping naked in Sasuke's office and masturbating in front of him. A person who believes marriage is forever, as Naruto claims in the 6th chapter, would NOT have done all of that. The first couple of chapters were very clear in how they portrayed Naruto and what kind of person he is. Naruto thought with his dick and only cared about living out the fantasy of sleeping with his hot professor. He wasn't morally troubled by the fact that Sasuke was married and had a child.

And then suddenly, Naruto catches feelings and the fic turns him into this sad-eyed little college boy who feels so bad about messing up Sasuke's life and ruining Sasuke's marriage that he breaks up with Sasuke for his own good and even apologizes to Sasuke for putting up with his feelings. Um, what? Where did the shameless sex-addict from the first couple of chapters go? Naruto didn't care about Sasuke's marriage and now suddenly he does? It's like you knew readers would hate Naruto if you kept his characterization consistent, so you rewrote him into someone we could sympathize with.

The fact of the matter is, Naruto falling for Sasuke wouldn't change him THAT much. He wouldn't change his attitudes about sex and marriage overnight. Maybe if something bad had happened in the fic, something that forced Naruto to realize he was negatively impacting Sasuke's life, THEN Naruto's change in attitude would have been believable. There would be a reason for him to suddenly care about Sasuke's marriage. But nothing like that happened.

Another issue is, Naruto's refusal to sleep with Kiba. With the type of person he is, that would have been the FIRST thing he'd have done. He'd probably be the sort of person who'd use sex to try and forget about Sasuke. Naruto is selfish and thinks with his dick, so why wouldn't he find an attractive guy to sleep with, especially if he thinks it will help him get over a guy he can't have? Yet the story is suddenly telling us, no no no, Naruto isn't that slutty, he doesn't sleep with that many people, Sasuke was just this exception that just called out to him. A guy who is totally comfortable with stripping naked in front of someone else and masturbating while doing dirty talk is very confident with his sexuality, meaning he's probably very sexually experienced. Come on now.

And it's not just Naruto who got whitewashed into looking like a better person than he was initially presented to be. You did this with other aspects of the fic too. I focused on Naruto because he was such an obvious example, but I could also go in-depth with Sasuke and Sakura as well. Since this review is already long, I'll only touch on them briefly.

Initially, we're told that Sasuke is happy with his life and has a good marriage. In the second paragraph of the fic, we're told that Sasuke "knew right away" that he'd marry Sakura after they met, that he "couldn't imagine being with anyone else." After they got married, he says he "couldn't have been happier." And yet, later on the fic tells us that he was NEVER happy with her, that he'd NEVER loved her! But it's right there, in the second paragraph, he WAS happy with her.

It's totally obvious that, like with Naruto, you tried to rewrite the situation into something readers could sympathize with. We can't sympathize with a homewrecker Naruto, but we can sympathize with a lovesick one. We can't sympathize with Sasuke ruining a happy marriage, but we can sympathize with Sasuke ruining a bad marriage. Sakura telling us that she always knew Sasuke would fall for someone else and leave her is another example of trying to manipulate the story so Naruto and Sasuke look less awful than they are. If Sakura had always been expecting Sasuke to leave her, then hey, we shouldn't feel bad for how the story treated her. She knew it was coming, right?

I just want a consistent story. I know this originally started off as a oneshot, but if you decided to continue it, then keep the characters as you initially presented them to be. You wrote them as bad people, so have the guts to keep them as bad people. Otherwise, write a new story where a sad-eyed college boy accidentally falls for a handsome professor in a bad marriage. Don't take a story about a shameless college boy and a weak-willed professor and make it into something else.

I was very moved by this story. You made Sasuke and Naruto's relationship very realistic, with all its ups and downs - it was very sweet and pleasant to read. I loved this story - thank you for taking the time to write and complete it! :)

The epilogue is rather unexpected. I never would have thought Kushina to be the one who would be so against it. Fugaku yes, Kushina, no. Plus Naruto who keep on saying just 'mom' while his mom blantantly accuse of Sasuke using him is just... Something Im not expecting Naruto would do. He knows how much Sasuke has done for him and he should be his first and last line of defense. Plus a 10 yrs gap is not really that bad, honestly.
Im not going to consider this epilogue part of the story, because, I just cant.
Neverthless, I enjoy your writing. Thank you for taking time to write a SasuNaru and adding a great fic on this ship. :)

Wow that was a seriously interesting story! I never really read these kind of stories (cheating husband and such) but you did a great job at it I must say. I do feel sorry for Sakura (even though I hate her) but I liked how you came up with an ending in which there was happiness.
