I love Kagome as an orphange volunteer/matron. Honestly, it's perfect for her. And I just gotta say, Inuyasha's pain of "rejection" combined with the desire to not be an asshole about it was nicely done; even his bitter comments were perfectly understandable because he never held it against her thereafter. Most writers would have made it uselessly dramatic in which he snaps at her, or they'd try to make it "too pure" by having him not react badly at all, which just isn't realistic, especially when caught off guard. So I appreciate how you handled it :) This is a very sweet, mutual pining coffee shop AU with an added layer of pathos for the dual disabilities. Well done, senpai!

I have to apologize to LoneStorm and her story "The Inugami" but...

This is now my most favorite Inuyasha fic of all time. Like, it's freaking adorable and there's just the right amount of drama and humor and I could sooo see a modern!Inuyasha calling Kagome 'babe'/'baby'. AND SHE FRIGGIN ADOPTS THEM AND HE'S COOL WITH IT.

It also doesn't hurt that I am now in love with lil Kou because he's too cute for this world and augh Inuyasha will be such a good dad for him! And Shippou's definitely a mama's boy but then so is Kou so Inuyasha's just kinda like "I HAVE BEEN FORSAKEN" while Kag's just giggling herself to pieces.

*screams indefinitely* These last two have killed me. Like I'm gone.

Okay, but seriously, this was brilliant. I absolutely adored this. Their relationship, the backstory, the dialogue, everything. I snorted loudly quite a few times through this. I was adopted (at birth, though) so this really hits home for me.

I hope you do write a continuation of this some day. I would love to see the whole family together!
