Was chapter 15 really necessary? You could have just implied it, and then just written the actual thing in Notepad or something. What's funny is that I have a friend I watch anime with all the time. I cried at the end of this chapter. I've stayed up way later though, so I don't see it as a big deal. Also, I was surprised ketchup won the Splatfest, I was convinced I would lose again. I'm like, "Well mayo might as well just win again because I barely have time to play this game anymore and my teammates f*cking suck!" Yeah. I was also pretty surprised about the results of the Callie vs Marie splatfest, considering how popular Callie was and still is. Wish I picked Marie though...

I think Leviathan (I'm just going to call him Levi) is Agent 3. It would make sense! The blue ink, Levi being upset that the Octo Valley gates are closed, it just all makes sense! And, the fact that he is in pretty good shape is also a DEAD GIVEAWAY! AGENT 3 IS ALWAYS FIGHTING OCTARIANS, THEREFORE HE GETS LOTS OF EXERCISE! HA! IVE FIGURED IT OUT! Also, when Levi made that 'I know I won' face, I literally said "I make that face all the time" and instantly regretted it.

Well then, I'll come out and say it, I've been up from around midnight to 4AM reading all the way to here (With a few breaks inbetween).
Allow me to sum up my thoughts! You're good grammatically, a great story-book writer and you've a solid sense of pacing.
There were parts where I felt a scene could've been a bit shorter or lasted a bit longer but I emphasize the "A bit" part as it really is the most minor of things.
I personally never were a big fan of time-skips but Epi1 is a good-wrapup point and provides decent set-up for a potential sequel. (Which yes, I still haven't read Epi2 or the sequel I know you've posted)

All in all I consider this an enjoyable read, not novel or fanfic of the century but certainly gets a top 25 spots from me, and I read quite a bit. I hope you'll continue to let yourself be inspired to write, from within and without.

I've read this multiple times and i still love it I've also read the sequel. I loved the attitude of all the characters and the way relationships developed. When I found out Inkay was Agent 3 I didn't think Agent 3 was the sort of person to help a Octoling especially when Cerata and Inkay shared their first kiss. I did have a larger review but it was deleted for some reason. Anyway keep it up! I'm looking forward to the next chapter in the sequel!

Good, good. I've read this fic from start to end, and I have to say I really liked it. While there are some typos, wrongly applied autocorrections and other mistakes, those are minimal enough to not interrupt the reading (aside the Agent 3 instead of Agent 1/2, that one was a bit confusing); so the writing here in average is OK. Anyway, the plot was simple yet interesting, it was well executed as it wasn't too long, and the elements and characters were kept in the quantity needed, not more, not any less. All these are good elements for hooking the readers' attention, so "gr8 b8 m8, I r8 8/8". Character development can be seen, and one or two surprises added to the delight. Character death was justified (although I'm gonna miss Octameri, really, this ocean seems to be the lava of Splatoon). The lemon was done just right, even though it wasn't that necessary (like, why do people think everything M means "sex at one point"? There are more mature stuff than just fucking each and every character, be it explicit violence, diseases, stressful situations, use of questionable substances for entertainment or control, horror, gore... you name it); anyway, yeah, it was a good inkling-on-octoling action display. Cannot complain about it. Closing the main arc while leaving specific details in the open was a nice way to prepare ground for a sequel. Also, extra points for the epilogue. The last one was heart warming.

Because there's nothing better than kicking some ass with your family. What a good way to start the day.

Now, switching back to fan comment, I'm gonna check out the sequel. I'm wondering if this red eyed male octoling is a bad guy in disguise, a retired bad guy or just someone with a bad guy nature living between good guys. Well, only time will tell. In the meantime, this is going to be stacked in my favorites list.
