ConstructiveRomance chapter 1 . 7/5
Beautiful writing. The first paragraph is particularly moving I think. I felt something in my chest when she spoke about the dust in the house, carved her name and then thought about the last time she touched her parents. The last line, too, was incredibly poignant. I don't have a lot to say here but I wanted to highlight that first part because - wow. Beautifully written in its grief.

Capecodcanal chapter 1 . 8/26/2018
Wow! I saw this recommended in a Facebook forum. This is heart-achingly, breathtakingly beautiful, you have such a way with language. I’m haunted (in the best possible way.)
The Ghostly Minion chapter 1 . 1/28/2017
Beautiful story. Post DH, and it shows why it should be Harmony.

MacsenWledig chapter 1 . 12/27/2016
I love that Hermione refers to the habits of getting ready for sleep in her childhood room as 'charms.' There's something wonderfully comforting about half-remembered routines, isn't there? I've always wondered how the three heroes must have adapted to a safer world once Voldemort was gone and you've done a great job at showing how Hermione might take the first step in putting her life back in some sort of order.

Harry's observation that Hermione's room is a 'sacred' place is particularly interesting given his own odd upbringing at Privet Drive. His realisation that he 'doesn't know the first thing about' her upbringing is a wonderful bit of insightful curiosity that I wish his canon counterpart had displayed. Does it seem strange to you that JKR's readers were content to gorge on the sorrow of James & Lily's sacrifice and the cloying, saccharine sweetness of One Big Happy Weasley Family without knowing the first thing about Hermione's Muggle family? For such an emotionally complicated character, I'd bet that her home life was interesting.

Harry's instinct to take off his shoes and curl up on the floor of Hermione room to keep her company says more about his character than any long, overwrought prose ever could. Really excellent economy of writing.

You've done a fantastic job in every possible area of this story. Thank you again for sharing your talent with us. Happy New Year.
Snarky64 chapter 1 . 8/25/2016
It's a wonderfully descriptive piece of writing, sensitive and sensuous, as always.

What strikes me is: "And he doesn't know the first thing about any of it." Harry was truly oblivious about Hermione's life, now I think on it, and probably Ron too (although we don't know what he and Hermione used to talk about - who knows?) It strikes me as so disproportionate that we know so much about Harry's life and Ron's. Perhaps Hermione's Muggle existence was just considered a given by Rowling. Huh. Hurrah for writers like you who fill in the gaps!
Wrexscar chapter 1 . 11/13/2015
The line.
But then he's standing in the doorway of her room, and he realizes, he's standing in the doorway of her room,
Is simple and yet perfect all at the same time.
This is perfect in the way it sums up coming home. For Hermione every step and glance has a memory yet Harry just simply walks down the street.
Wonderfully down as usual. I loved it, as usual.
Bad Mum chapter 1 . 10/13/2015
"The sort of place that could grow a girl like her." That line is sheer perfection, and sums up the whole piece. The childhood memories, the sense of belonging, the sounds and smells for Hermione, and the realisation on Harry's part about how little he knew of her past. His was famous, Ron's was an open book, but hers was forgotten, taken for granted. I love this so much.
camillablue chapter 1 . 10/12/2015
Oh, I've been looking forward to reading your entry all week. Honeysuckle, clipped grass and saffron. I can smell it, and it does indeed smell like June. Every word here has such purpose. I can taste the dust in the air. This somehow feels like an extension of your previous story...was that on purpose? Again, I feel Hermione's desperate loneliness and heartache so clearly. This was haunting, poetic and oddly comforting. You are a formidable opponent!
By Another Name chapter 1 . 10/12/2015
There's nothing like the home of one's childhood to make a person feel safe and secure. Liking the way that although they're probably pretty safe, one person is still dealing with a lot of fear.
desireejones99 chapter 1 . 10/12/2015
Best that just 2 go to Australia, sorry just not into the ghost writer epilog stupidity. The smartest witch of her age Marries the Potter, just as Lily did
Zigadenus chapter 1 . 10/11/2015
This is beautiful. Every detail you include simply resonates.
Intervigilium chapter 1 . 10/11/2015
Oh, I've been waiting for someone to write this scene for quite some time, and I'm so glad I saw it written by your hand. In particular, Harry's realization of how much she should know about Hermione's past - and doesn't - was inspired. The single cup was just heartbreaking, as were all the scents, sounds and memories given life by Hermione's perspective.

Both characters are absolutely perfect. Brava!
pianomouse chapter 1 . 10/11/2015
Haunting, very descriptive and emotional writing, thank you for sharing.
