Ahhhhhhhh! I love love love this chapter! I feel like you wrote Ace better in this chapter if I'm being honest. I always like to imagine he's pretty different during his early pirate years compared to when we first see him in the manga. He was 17 after all, and lord knows I was one confused angry mess at 17. I feel kind of bad for him though. Can't wait for the next chapter, as always! Good luck and have fun writing it!

Another wonderful chapter! Honestly, this characterization of Ace is one I enjoy a lot: the stubbornness, the almost extreme independence, the fear of failing and rejection- he’s still a teenager with an upbringing that’s made him fiercely independent (very close to a fault) but also reliant on this base desire to be wanted. It makes sense that he would latch onto someone (or someone’s) and hold them so high becuase I feel like he never really truly had that (Makino would probably be the closest but even she only saw them so often and they didn’t live with her). You’ve written him so well and I love this story! Even if I get frustrated with all of them sometimes lmao idk how Whitebeard does it xD

That was a nice look into Ace integrating into the crew. Of course it'll take some time before he's willing to talk about his narcolepsy, but maybe his former crewmates could have provided some explanation to his behaviour?

The turmoil of emotions he's feeling was nicely expressed and I enjoyed reading this! Looking forward to the next update!

A new update! :3 How exciting! I love it and this fanfiction. Your quality of writing is still the best! I'm dying to know what happens next. Would it turn out that the crew all thinks new recruits don't have much to do and thought they were each just giving Ace "one" chore (which turns out to be 10 altogether) or is Ace doing the chores wrong and that's why they are taking twice as long? Do the commanders begin to really suspect that Ace is being harrassed by others into being excluded? If part 2 takes more than 3 months to come out, I think I may cry! T_T (I want to say 3 weeks but I have to leave you some wiggle room. I'm sounding bossy, aren't I? _;;; Sorry! I re-read this fanfic regularly so I was super duper excited to see a new chapter - and then it turned into a cliff-hanger! ;-;)

Ok I'm back since my last review some hours ago because I had to read more of it again. I remember discovering this fic and your other fics some years ago, and I have been not able to forget them since that day. Some times when I'm feeling down or stress out I like reading some chapters of it, and it never fails to make me feel better. They are all so wholesome, make my heart feel so warm and I can feel all the love and dedication you put on them. It’s really nice seeing a chapter just about Ace adjusting (or struggling to) to being initiated into the crew. I feel it’s more realistic that Ace would encounter struggles than not, especially considering his upbringing. I really really liked seeing how Ace deals with everything being new to him.

Really looking forward to seeing the next part to this, and for Ace’s sake, I hope the commanders at least find out the manner in which Ace was brought up so they can at least understand some of his odd behaviors

Ace is, contrary to popular belief, a very insecure person deep down under all that bravado, and we love the little idiot for it :,)

One more thing, I don’t know if you’ve seen/read it before, but there’s this semi recent episode in One Piece about Ace in Wano, and how he was this little girl Tama’s hope. Also interesting to note that Izo is from Wano so . The episode is in YouTube if you haven’t watched it! It’s so nice to finally see some more Ace content in canon.

ALSO sorry I’m just excited haha. There’s this new Ace novel that just got translated to English last month or so. There’s three chapter and they all get covered by this youtuber called Tekking101, where he did two separate vids on the novel. You should check it out if you haven’t cuz it has some really interesting Ace moments that might inspire or interest you :D Also some mysteries surrounding Ace meeting his first mate and eating his devil fruit get answered too so that’s cool! Of course if you’ve read it then ignore this
