Well, this is something to chew on. I certainly think that most every fan of this pairing liked this scene tremendously when it aired, but also felt a little cheated that it wasn't as gritty as what you just demonstrated. So kudos for you on lengthening it and making it a bit more dire than it was in canon, I think there's many a fan who needed this in its way.
