Mmmmm, well they could both be by each other at the same in reality. But, they could be separate and both are hallucinating. But it is strange how insistent the lines "Shhh. Just sleep, Kaneki." "And Kaneki does just that." are. I hear often that sleep is usually (indirectly) connected with hallucinations, which people can often assume them as dreams and or reality. Also, the lack of reassurance of reality from Hide's view is disconcerting. Especially if the word "again" is used. Sometimes hallucinations and dreams can repeat. I'm thinking waaaayyy too much on this. I know I hardly made any sense but-/shrugs

Hmm, I really want to believe neither of them are hallucinating, but I think they are. The depressing vibe just makes it seem that way, like they are both losing their minds in their own separate way. Don't confuse me with those questions! Messing with my feelings like that...
