I missed this story somehow so thank you for sharing it tonight. Beautifully heartbreaking but written exactly as the show should’ve written this whole story arc.

So much more believable than the what the writers tried to make us swallow in season 8, it never made any sense to me.

No Fin! It reads like a beginning of a news and completely better story then S8. Like this chapter is the epilogue for new adventures of them, where they are together fighting whoever there is to fight and they have to keep it a secret...

I like your take on this. I could have accepted that if it had been written like this on the show. Makes sense. Words this time and Clap clap again too.

This was a short and pithy take on the disastrous rode the show took for Season 8 when they bet the Castle farm on NF. Your version was so much more mature and reasonable considering what went on in the show, I actually think that the writers took some of their more believable episodes from FF writers without needing any consent from them. However Double Cross still feels a little incomplete more like a chapter in a book with a bit more to come or cum.

I felt their pain and their frantic frenzied need to reinforce their love for each other-their bond due to their forth coming separation, almost as painful as death for them compounded with worry and not knowing what their future would bring.

Everything you do always has your special touch and is always worth the read. ;)

They have to trust each other. There's no other way. And they have to trust that when they give the word, Gates will send in the cavalry.

OK...this is amazing. And as convoluted and crazy as it is, it is also the ONLY reasonable way that that moronic 2-parter made any sense whatsoever. I absolutely love it.

I'm sure it's been said before, but if you could somehow weasel your way onto the writing team of the show and...I dunno, give them all food poisoning or something so they have to rely on you for the scripts in the future, that'd be great.

This would have been so much easier to accept! Them splitting up for real is just horrible! Despite not liking the way this arc is panning out, I can see how someone watching it (ME!) couldn't wait to see what is happening next because we need them back together!

OMG, think about this being the REAL PLAN on the show o.O It would be GLORIOUS and a well thought plan...It would explain everything and our favorite couple would be stronger than ever (actually I think it will be on the show too, so... I'm quite calm about this whole thing) GREAT IDEA, BUDDY!

TBH, one of my main concerns around the mess the show is in right now is how it may affect the fanfic world, so stuff like this is the kind of outcome I hoped for.

Now THIS is much more along the lines of how this ridiculous storyline should play out. True to character (each of them separate, and together as a team) and fitting with what they've been through. Beautifully written: heart-wrenching, poignant, loose ends tied up and Gates is in there too (love her!) Thank you for this.
