This one-shot, despite being short, had a lot of emotion in it and I feel sorry for Daisuke. I've been in a similar position myself and I know how much it hurts.

I like how mature Daisuke is in this story and that he understands that he has to move on. It seems more fitting with his character that he acts this way instead of the less mature ways some others might have written him. He understands Hikari's view and only wants her to be happy, even at his own expense.

Aw, this was so sad and sweet at the same time. Poor Davis knows he can't have Kari, but he still loves her, yet respects the fact that Kari isn't interested in him. Meanwhile Kari still wants to be friends with Davis as well instead of pushing him away. How long this can last is questionable, but I doubt Kari will ever forget Davis since he's a DigiDestined and, well, helped save the world and stuff :P

It sucks that it had to come to this, but I think reassuring Daisuke that they'll always remain friends helps ease the pain just a little bit. It's weird how she still gives him a fleeting chance afterwards when he asks her if anything could possibly happening between the two of them, though. I wonder what's up with that?

I liked the poetry of this fic. It professes some real heartfelt feelings and fits the characters brilliantly. I love the interspacing of thoughts and speech. It makes me imagine it like one of those game/movie previews with flashes of the product and speech throughout. Loving someone enough to let them be free is a beautiful sentiment too, and it ends this fic nicely. I've got a lot of praise for this, but as an improvement, I'd say that a few bits seemed repetitive. Also, I liked the short punchy lines. It really fit this well.

Hiya, so the short sentences give it a really punchy edge and because we already know who the characters are, there's no pressure to elaborate on the characterisation! One thing that caught my attention was the jumping tenses - sometimes it's past and sometimes it's in the present tense :) But that's something which can easily be overcome!

That was sweet. And sad. But I liked the way you wrote it. It was so poetic, and yet it flew so smoothly. Your style of writing that you put in this fic was really nice.

And I just wanted you to know that you gave me a whole new light on Daikari. I haven't had the chance to read a lot of those, and everywhere I go, I see people mostly talk about Takari, and when they are talking about Daikari, they don't really elaborate on it. Not like this. I'm quite open-minded when it comes to pairings, and now you've put a whole other viewpoint for me to look at.

Very true to the emotions of such events. Sorry to hear that you've gone through that recently. I have been in a similar situation myself and while I let the girl go I made a dumber move than telling the girl, I kissed her. I thought she had feelings for me but she didn't. Davis (and you I hope) had a better result than I did because our friendship practically ended after that. It's been over 4 years and I still feel like an idiot sometimes. Very touching and well done.

Alright as promised!

The feeling is real and genuine. I do wish Daisuke would kind of say he will find his soulmate later on, but that would take away from the what the one-shot is trying to convey. It's very good and brings a lighter side to what many know as sad ending for Daisuke.
