Im never forgiving you for writing another story this good. Im constantly gonna be torn on which updates to pray for. If it's anything like premiseverse in terms of crazy awesome, we are in for a ride.

I like that you took the time for Naruto to actually think about what Naruto might think about others opinions of him upon learning of the Kyuubi.

Is chakra control about genetics in your AU? In canon we are TOLD that willpower is supreme, but the character sent to SHOW this has his paternal DNA from one of the most skilled shinobi in history, his maternal DNA from a line of ninja royalty who have essentially a kekkei genkai, is descended from ninja jesus and a reincarnation of a demi-god. For other characters, what we are shown is 99% of battles won by the guy who outmagicDNA!s the other guy.

Very interested in how your version of Hinata is going to develop and your take on Anko given how wasted she was in canon.

The test was brutal, and actually made a lot more sense than the test from canon due to Kakashi’s canon claim of putting comrades before all else makes little sense for basically hired killers.
You’ve done a better job of characterization with characters like Danzo and Obito than the canon source.

Great worldbuilding with things like the Mujitsu branch- these all work to make Konoha and the surrounding world feel large and lived in.

You’ve done a great job of the assembling team with their interactions as a serious unit and not a rage bomb waiting to go off like in canon- it works to stand out this story.

The spying scene at the end added layers too- and it makes sense the Kyuubi container would be monitored instead of left to his own devices like canon.

I never thought to see this update. I like that you don't have your characters rant about canon but instead show a bit more realistic version of a militaristic society.

Your writing style is very good and I would love to read more of this story.

My questions at this point after reading your note at the end would be: Why is his Byakugan weak when we see Ao from land of Water using it fine. Question two is if his bones at 1yr and muscles were so much stronger than others normal, why wouldn’t he be faster and stronger than normal. I mean you, from the note, made him have none of the perks of being a Jinchuriki but all of the drawbacks!
I am enjoying your writing style and i believe like you that Shinobi fights wouldn’t last 30 min or more, it actually is kind of ridiculous to think so. I like your character assessments too, they seem spot on for a realistic military village. Just the warning at the end that has me worrying for how this will turn out.

Is that really a thing or just Hyuuga being Hyuuga? (I figure the later, but since in Naruto genetics power am not sure. Also sorry if already answered, I need to reread the story. Or simply read, since the first time around I wasn't exactly all there).

Hah! As fucked up as this is turning out to be (or should I say "realistic"?) I am going to truly enjoy seeing you taking shots at canon. Especially the way Sakura was handled (I tried re-watching the anime and... ugh).

Absolutely love this take LP. So many Hokage Danzo fics turn Konoha into darkseid’s Apokolips with roving death squads, or go full on moronic mustache twirling evil incompetence. This is Danzo Hokage realized to it’s full potential. The test is the best Genin test I’ve read, and the Bakashi Obidiot Dynamic is a welcome change from canon. As always with your works you are not afraid to deviate, and that is the biggest thing I love about them. The little details you put in, uniforms, radio use with protocols and code names, are so well done. If you ever have trouble sleeping again I really would suggest working on this again purely for my own desire to read it. ;D

For want of a Nail stories are probably my favourite. Really happy to see this story updated, I love me some stories where Danzo is not a lame antagonist that does nothing.

Fascinating story so far! Tremendously enjoying your take on Danzo. I've always enjoyed "greater-good" utilitarian type characters that actually believed in and acted in accordance with that philosophy. Too many authors- including Kishimoto, to a degree- fall into the trap of revealing utilitarian villains to actually be hypocrites seeking only to benefit themselves, and then acting as though they've made an argument against utilitarianism rather than an argument against hypocrisy. Far more interesting to examine, as you are, what actions a true utilitarian would undertake if they thought it necessary.

This is pure gold. I can only dream of what this could have morphed into.
