LOL. A new definition of "taking one for the team", but you are right... he would not contemplate that she might not have been Ron's years ago or maybe he could dream even of taking her from Harry.
My own fanon would imply that he is so deep in pureblood culture and Pansy as his betrothed has to "put out" for him since early on that he could not understand anybody willingly waiting until the right person is there to fool around with. And of course there's always the option that Ron brags about such things even if they are not true. Hoisted by the redhead's petard so to speak.

pretty nice variant of one of FFN's most annoying tropes. _ I hope you feel better now that this is out of your system?
Runecutter chapter 6 . 5/6/2016
Slightly overdramatic in Harry's thoughts about present and past, but the arrival in the past was a good one for this kind of story.
What about the potion plot? Wouldn't he by now know about it? Why did he wait for Ginny to die when everything else is already long past ruined and Hermione lies dead while the love-thieves went on, even in Askaban in Ron's case. There still seems to be something missing from the equation and as this defined Harry's motivations and how he'll deal with the past it feels important that he has a certain degree of information about it so he can avoid it.

Oh... also: Police would never interrogate a victim while under analgetics... it would influence the clarity of their thoughts and their reactions, both of which would be important evidence for a later trial.
Can't you just move this to chapter 2 and start out with a time jump like "three days later Harry sat on his Hospital bed clad in dressing gown with a sticked on logo declaring it to belong to St Elizabeth's Medical Center, Surrey. He looked proudly down on his new bright green plaster cast on the broken arm when the door opened and Constable Jackson came back, accompanied by two strangers carrying large aluminium suitcases" ?
Ibskib chapter 8 . 5/2/2016
Meh, I would have liked it a lot more if Hermione's machinations didn't include giving Draco her virginity, that's just stupid.
There must have been a lot of other options, though with the wording of the vow being left unstated, the readers are precluded from pointing those out, which is weird considering that it is the main plot device in the story.

Gambling on a vow sounds like a pretty bad idea overall, aside from that, there are no indications as to why they would lose their magic if they didn't obey the Marriage Law, a pretty big plothole, and not the only one, for instance why are they so set on staying within the legal bounds of a corrupt regime? It's not like they decided to follow the law when Voldemort ruled the ministry.

Nice idea.
sparky40sw chapter 8 . 5/1/2016
thank you
I hate to see Hermione come that close to Draco, as his tool should never be in an garden shed, never mind hers...
I can see her doing the cold hearted calculation that it is worth it to kill him off.
furface294 chapter 8 . 4/30/2016
OH I like this, you are going to expand it ? yes?
Keronshara chapter 8 . 4/30/2016
Finally a D/H canon-based story that I can get behind. I completely agree with your logic behind why Draco and Hermione in canon would never get together. The only way those two would ever fall in love with each other and get together was if they became friends before Hogwarts or in the first couple years at Hogwarts. After 5th Year especially, Hermione would never be friends with Draco, tolerate maybe, but never fall in love with or become friends with him.
I love how Hermione turns Marriage Law in to a way to help herself, her friends, and her cause, all while screwing Draco over with very law he helped enact.
Ice Demon Ranger chapter 8 . 4/30/2016
What a brilliant conclusion to Hermione 's ability to pull one over on Draco. LOL.

Fun chapter and nicely done with the vow. Thanks for sharing!

hehe nice! The only possible HG/DM I've seen or can see, were ones that went AU in first or second year. Some event happening to Draco that changes him early, makes him rethink the beliefs his Dad stomped into him before he's done and said his most heinous behavior.

I've only read a few of those though, where Draco believably changed early enough for it to be plausible. Even the ones where he believably changes in later years, 4th and on, I can't see Hermione being able to get past his early behavior to actually want to date the twit. Tolerate him sure, but not date him.

But then I don't even find canon Ron/Hermione plausible considering how badly Ron treated Hermione until he needed homework help.
SomeGuyFawkes chapter 8 . 4/30/2016
Bah. "Death by snu-snu" is still better than Draco deserves!
But it's a new definition of "Womb to tomb" care. ;)
