This shouldn't have been such a huge drama, with simple deduction he could've told Hokage about what's coming without garnering any suspicions besides, he knew how to defeat Shukaku yet used all his chakra and having to be reminded by the toad
To be honest, the story is good but the SI is absolute trash, nothing he does helps towards future except perhaps his training but even then he could've trained more and better just from remember training from canon like weights from Gai and Lee and asking Kurenai for help on Genjutsu or even higher tier chakra control we know from watching the series

I really, really liked this story. So often, authors try and give Sasuke such a torn and vengeful experience and thought process. While that's all well and good, and can even make for some seriously creative and heart wrenching material, it's nice to have a happier story, you know? I'm in complete shock that no one died in this one - that's how common it is in Sasuke fics or Naruto fics in general. Like, dark is okay, but it's nice to see the sun sometime, ya know? Genuinely, thank you for this.
