A well written and entertaining merging of the two universes.

This crossover is so believable. It's better than canon.

So, to begin I want to say that this is a great story, as others have said the histories were merged nicely, and fairly seamlessly, ignoring the fact that voldie would have already risen and been looking for harry by his 16th birthday had harry never gone to Hogwarts. My main contention with this, is that it's not really about harry at all, despite that he is essentially the main character. Had you changed harry for Larry, his mother lily for his mother millie, and his eccentric uncle Sirius for his eccentric uncle Seamus, the story would not change. harry being a wizard doesn't really affect the tale, especially since he relates more with his blacksmithing than his wizarding. A potentially good change might be to have his magic accentuate his smithing, which is why he produces such good works despite his age. The reader roots for harry to win merida's heart because he is the main character, and because most of us have history with Harry Potter and want him to win, but had you told this from merida's point of view and removed all the harry potter backstory, it would just be a more clever solution to her problem of betrothal, and I doubt many would feel too badly for the added fourth suitor, except as a potentially better match, but again, when seen from merida's point of view, it's against her wishes and even a better match is bad when she is so obviously is against the idea. So again, good story, I enjoyed the read, I am not trying to bash at all, but i do wish the REAL harry had shined through and been more present. that's all, Tata

This was a... sad story, if you ask me. It was mostly a one-sided love. A good story non the less.

This is a great resolution for Merida's situation. She gets to wait another year, during which Harry can romance her properly and when she's ready she can pick something only he will win at. I was half expecting Harry to use his magic to rig all the games, but it's better for his character that he didn't.

This story definitely doesn't feel finished, though. Now that Harry has come forward as the heir to Dun Morogh, he will be expected to reclaim his land and rebuild the castle, not to mention dealing with the giant bear that's still terrorizing the country. It would make a very satisfying sequel to see him resolve all these issues. This story also needs more magic and adventure, and for Merida to eventually grow up and fall for Harry, so I hope you will write that sequel someday.

this is a pretty interesting one-shot. this is the one of those i've read that doesn't even seem close to finished though...
