What a very cute story.
Alannada chapter 23 . 9/7/2018
This fandom needs more quality fics like this. It's a nice AU, keeping the key characteristics of the canon characters while drawing a new landscape for the plot. The plot itself isn't too complicated, but it is sure done well.
And Kouga getting his butt handed to him is always a nice addition :D
Just Dyana chapter 23 . 8/23/2018
I just finished reading your story and I loved it. I don't really know how to explain it, but it has a great atmosphere, if that makes sense? But yeah, I really, really liked how you handled Kagome and Inuyasha's relationship, I have to admit I absolutely loved that slow burn eheh. Also I'm always so happy when Shippo's included in a fic since he's so often forgotten. And that ending was absolutely adorable! I really loved it! I also enjoyed how you added tales in the story, I can't say I was familiar with any of them (except maybe Bernadette? I'm not even sure about that to be honest), but it was really nice to discover as well. I wish you the best for you future writings!
Evil Illusions chapter 23 . 5/11/2018
This was a beautifully paced story. I love all the different Canadian elements you put in there. Great job!
Evil Illusions chapter 18 . 5/11/2018
I'm loving this story so far! I'm Canadian and I am so impressed with what you've created here. Just a quick note. When the soldier was trying to talk to Kagome, I would stick with the whole conversation with the pronoun "vous" since it would be the default if you did not know the person you were speaking to. :)

Wh... woah... holy crap. What an amazing story. I’m just... a little overwhelmed right now honestly. That was... ? I can’t even begin to tell you. I went through so many emotions reading this but it was all GOOD emotions, like! Every part of this story delighted and intrigued me and I think I just absolutely fell in love with this. The setting and the supernatural elements and that A slow burn romance just! Oh man. That’s some good fic right there. I just wanna reread this all night but I’ve already binge read it and it’s like 2 in the morning but MAN was it ever worth it! Thank you for creating this literary masterpiece!

Oh and also Kagome and Inuyasha and Shippo are just my favorite little trio ever and the fact that they got to be a little family like this was absolutely heartwarmingly wonderful and I’m so happy! AMAZING FIC!

Mustard Yellow Sunshine chapter 23 . 2/17/2018
This story has been on my favorites list for well over a year, and every time I've sat down to review, I've struggled to articulate why I love it so much. I never wanted to leave an insufficient review, so I just... never ended up reviewing. Oops.

BUT NOT TODAY! Today I will tell you why I love this story so damn much.

First of all: I LOVE this setting, and just the whole ambiance of the story. The historical Canadian backdrop is so unique and well-executed; I felt totally immersed! The little details and the characters—the village scenery, the attention to things like dress and socialization, Sango as a blacksmith-in-training, Old Qualtrough (whom I ADORED because he's so organic to the whole setting and just, ugh, he's great), the fort Inuyasha and Kagome visit, and so much more—it all created a wonderful, immersive environment that I got to steep in throughout the story. So good.

But you went beyond bringing the historical setting to life: you also added that touch of fantasy and fairy tale, and you blended the two SO WELL. I'm torn between admiration and envy, because damn. I loved Kagome connecting with Inuyasha as the nameless "presence" at her tree, the sort of soul-bond they began forming before she even truly met him; I loved the way you introduced and slowly revealed Kagome's spiritual abilities; I loved the hints and allusions to magical creatures (the "other folk" Qualtrough spoke about, for instance), and then of course the very real presence of ones like the talking raven, and youkai like Kouga and Bernadette and, well, Inuyasha himself. Like, you made magic seem just as real as the historical details, and I'm just so impressed.

And can we talk about the pacing? Your pacing is BEAUTIFUL. You didn't rush a single a thing. You let events unfold, take their time, build their momentum. Inuyasha and Kagome's romance, in particular, felt so realistic (despite the more-than-unusual circumstances) because they took their time: they got to know each other. The slow build up of sweet, small moments between them is SUCH a pleasure to read, I can't tell you. It's why I keep coming back to this story, I think. I've probably reread it half a dozen times by now, and I'm sure I'll keep rereading it.

Speaking of the romance: this is one of my top favorite InuKag fics. You nailed the characters. They just FEEL like themselves. And every single part of their relationship is so earned, y'know? You made me believe every moment: Kagome communing with Inuyasha at the tree, their spirits speaking to each other (I can only imagine how Inuyasha's isolation would make finding Kagome feel to him like finding buried treasure); Inuyasha surreptitiously trying to be near her on his human night by going to the dance (makes me wonder if he'd ever tried to make contact on his human night before); his protecting her and taking her into his home without question; their slow dance of getting to know each other once they're living under the same roof. Just, MY DUDE, IT'S SO GOOD. Nothing about it is rushed, everything feels true and earned and I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

I just. I could keep going on and on, but I'll try to wrap it up.

I know it's been several years now since you finished the story, but I hope you read this and know that people are still very much enjoying your work. And I hope you're still writing! I think you have a real talent, and it would sure make me happy to know you're still practicing the craft. But regardless, thank you for writing and sharing this beautiful story!

Perfect ending. I swear my smile is glued to my face D
Wenchster chapter 23 . 10/21/2015
Honestly, you are one of my favourite writers inside and outside of fanfiction, if not THEE holder of the #1 title. You make Canada so proud to have such talent, and I love how you incorporated the county into your tale. :) And, that ending...?! When they finally kissed I swear to you, my face heated up and I let loose a tear. How can you bring out such emotions from me?! How?! It's amazing! Sango summed it up perfectly; 'magical' is what I'd call this without a doubt. My heart is STILL beating so fast! In a minute I might have to bawl into a tub of sugary icecream once I come down from high and crash, realizing its ended. Can I just say, you have a way with writing InuYasha and Kagome that just is 100% natural, and oh so right, and simply clicks. You get them their personality and how they make chemistry together. It's like these two 'were born' to have their romance fanfic-written by you. I'm dead serious. Now, I must apologize for reading and reviewing so, so, so late in the game. I have you on author alert and you wouldn't believe how piercing the squeal was when I saw were writing again, not to mention the fact you were updating chapter after chapter (god how I love a pre-written story! bless you HoneyBee31!). Unfortunately, my health has been on the downslope, so I selfishly didn't want to delve into this wonderful-joy being too numb and sick on meds, not able to fully take-in the experience of a new plot and setting that an author I admire just wrote for my favourite couple in the world. I'm sorry I didn't review your other chapters, but this review is from the heart and I want to let you know that reading this has helped convince me to stay strong in my battle when all I want to do is give up, because this piece you wrote reminds me of all the beautiful things in life that I love being apart of. And the last three days, in which I have been reading 'Folktale', have been the best days Ive had in a long, long time. Please, please continue writing InuYasha/Kagome romance?! Now, I'm a huge fan of all your stories, 'Just To Watch You Be Seen' and 'Please Please Please Let Me' waaaaaaaay up there on some of the best InuYasha/Kagome fics ever written in history. But I'm going to embarrassingly admit that I have re-read 'Blue Guitar' at least 20 times since you halted writing it years back (I stopped counting after 20 heheh) and it has my heart. I think I would seriously be in *absolute heaven* if you finished 'Blue Guitar', because that story means so much to me. InuYasha and Kagome in that fic are the equivalent to tasting and seeing music. Just raw and heartbreakingly beautiful. If your deciding not to (or even not writing anymore in general) I'd really, really appreciate the heads up, so I could brace myself. However, I'm crossing every single finger and toe I have and praying to all the gods in every religion in the world that you are still going to continue writing InuYasha/Kagome romance stories and that you'll finish 'Blue Guitar'. I hope to hear from you, and hope your read this. Thankyou SO, SO, SO much for putting peace and complete and utter happiness in my life in reading InuYasha and Kagome in 'Folktale'!
