I don't think my heart has ever been broken in so few words... You have such insight into Zuko's character, and I thank you for sharing that with us. Your writing is phenomenal.

I've already commented before, but really, upon re-reading this again (for like the 15th time oh man), it's astonishing that you don't have more reviews. Your writing isn't overly descriptive, it's actually quite spartan, and still the sense of dread and horror and confusion build up as we follow Sokka over these few words and what he sees. And you're left wondering, with Sokka, if winning a war is ever going to be enough to make the hurts completely fade.
