Awwww. This is absolutely fantastic. I cant tell you how much I adore this story. Especially because you carried on from one of my favorite scenes and made it even more adorable! This is the peter I wish wed been able to see. I love his fatherly, affectionate and gruff yet gentle attitude towards neal, almost as if the latter is the one who can tug at his heartstrings in a way only people who matter most to you can, and youve brought that in perfectly here, without even turning it into a slash fic for which I am forever grateful :D
And neal is too sweet. Its quite gut wrenching when you realize just how alone he really is. It made his drugged self's decision to go to the burkes and confess, almost as if seeking acceptance or an honest relationship where he can get it, all the better in the show and here! I hope we get a sequel or more stories from you in the family/friendship genre for white collar since youve got their characters down pat.

In the beginning (and the end) there was the unlikely relationship between two very disparate men, as loving as it was problematic. You captured this so very perfectly. And in perfect character voices. Just lovely.
