awwww poor grant, I like that Grant knew that no body believe him or understand him until Garrett. I like that Grant can't keep his emotions straight when he is around Skye. I like that Skye stood up for Alice and beat up that Richard. I like that Richard hit Grant and was terrified of him. I like that Grant let himself get hit to protect Skye. I like that Skye knows that Grant was abused. I like that Grant is protective of Grant. I really enjoy it. I like that Skye stood up for herself. The skyeward moment was adorable. well done.

Now that was a cool way to show off Skye in a fight and implement what she learned with Ward. Loved how she schooled the cadet. Also Ward getting in between of it all is just a badass bonus.

Loved that Ward inserted himself in the fight for Skye's sake and threatened Richard to never come after her again. Would love to see how that plays out.

The agent having a sister at the academy was unexpected. Adapting to circumstance is a good definition of a survivor. I wonder how long he can live in denial with Skye around. Are we getting FitzSimmons back soon? There's always that one person who embodies all shittiness. Showing up her skills reminds me of when she disarmed Quinn but believing it was over shows her inexperience. Not that I know much of fighting.

Yes, this was definitely lighter than the last chapter, but not exactly what I would call fluff, LOL! I love the way you are weaving things together. You have a great ability to plant small seeds that will later be significant plot points. For example, by having Ward calculate what is necessary and allowing the jackass to hit him, he unwittingly showed his hand. Now Skye has an insight into how he thinks, and that can only come up again when the shyte hits the fan. Nicely done. (Maybe she'll remember this and help him get out of Garrett's clutches?) I also really enjoyed watching Skye step up and use the defenses she has learned against a bully. Awesome. To top it off, we get a deeper look into Ward's headspace, and the two of them inching ever closer together. I loved it all. Thank you. :)

No, not really, this is still sort-of angsty. Ward and Skye are travelling in different directions - sort of - but they are still close enough to each other for Skye to get suspicious, for one. Hopefully, this will turn out better than how it went in the canon S1, yeah?
