Damn this was goooood

I love that Lucaya library moment. Loved his words to her so much! And then their second library moment together...those words between them were golden! So perfectly sweet for them! I LOVED IT!

Riley is such a bitch at the bay window! Here is Maya giving up her chance at happiness with Lucas so that her friendship with Riley doesn’t crumble (without hesitation might I add) and yet Riley can’t do the same thing for Maya. Riley would rather have Lucas to herself than keep her friendship with Maya. Pure bitch move on Riley’s part. What I really love is when Maya used the Topanga/Cory/Shawn scenario to explain to Riley just where she was coming from, that she would rather have the friendship than the relationship because that's what best friends are for. Great use of that analogy.

This is painful and uplifting and perfect all at once. Thank you for writing! I can see the years grinding on their friendship-it is normal. But it was wonderful that you found a way to resolve it. I do believe Riley would act out of selfishness and anger at first, but would come around. Because neither girl is a bad person: they were just dealt rough hands that put them at odds with one another. And the last section was a fluffy favorite of mine. So sweet, both in terms of Lucaya and Rilaya. Kudos :)

OK so I have been trying to deny the fact that a kid show has absolutely dragged me over the abyss and forced me to climb aboard a new ship...like, serious self-denial has been going on here. But somehow I find myself here, on FF, sucked into the Lucaya black hole and this is the story that officially broke me down because now I'm REVIEWING a Disney channel show fanfic. Daggone it.

YESSSSSS You did everything perfectly. I adore Maya here and she's so in character - going to extremes to separate herself from the center of controversy with Riley even if that means ruining herself in the process. From start to finish, each character was wholly convincing and I found myself empathizing a little too well from personal experience (I was Maya, my bff was Riley, but plot twist - our "Lucas" was NOT WORTH IT, oh well ya live and ya learn). And Lucas...oh my heart. I loved that he was willing to put it out there for Maya without being pushy, and I lived for the moment where he started fighting back for his own happiness and for hers. That line about being a gentleman but not allowing her to decide his feelings - perfect. So Lucas. I loved how he was borderline annoyed with her from the beginning, because I am a firm believer that Lucas should be with Maya simply because she would bring that side out in him that is passionate and determined and feisty. And then the conflict came to a head in a way that still had me loving all three of them. I'm such a sucker for this fic. Seriously, it was wonderful. I can only hope that GMW tackles this one just as well, but I'm not so sure after Girl Meets Texas (which was good, but still a bit dubious).
