Ever since I heard Steven Universe was coming to a close, I started binge-reading fanfictions for the series.

This is by far one of the best stories I’ve ever read, let alone fanfiction. I’d just like to say thank you.

I usually walk away disappointed from most fan-made stories, simply because they represent the characters from the source material in a way that feels unnatural or fake. Somehow, you managed to make every character different and yet super appealing to read. I always felt like the aftermath of “Cry for Help” could have been handled better, as well as Peridot’s alienation from Homeworld. I didn’t like how she went from wanting to give Earth to Yellow for colonization to a Crystal Gem instantaneously, and how quickly the tension was resolved between Garnet and Pearl. They just didn’t sit right for me. I much prefer your growth of the characters, and how Steven changes because of the conflict in episode 63 (leading to all of the future events taking place in a much better way).

I realize that this story has been completed for years now and you will most likely never read this review, GlassHawk, but I’d like you to know that you greatly succeeded in your role as an author. Your story provided me a much needed rollercoaster of emotions on a boring, depressing day, reimagining characters I’ve grown with over the years into a story I didn’t realize I needed.

Yeah, I really can't support any gem parenting that involves lying to GREG about Steven being missing. About time he got to call them out. :)

Who else just skips the parts with the gems and only reads Steven and Peridot being adoreble?

I remember reading this fic when the latest update was Steven's broken arm. It took me ages to find it again but its totally worth it.
