Fabricator General Thres'ri chapter 53 . 3h I really kind of want Yuria to suffer. Her zealotry and arrogance just make me want to punch her through the screen. I hope she meets the Prophet, I want him to reject her and condemn everything she has done. Aside from that, nice chapter as usual. |
Antoine chapter 3 . 8/30 This was another fun chapter! I liked that Kaylen decided to spare and even help "humanize" (for lack of a better verb) the male undead merchant! I love this theme of going out of one's way to help others even more than was possible in the original game. It reminds me of a quote that I saw on Tumblr: "Because my no-consequences power fantasy is being able to help everyone." |
Terra chapter 53 . 8/26 Hey it's me again, dropping by every few months to check out if there's updates or nah Kappa. In response to your argument, I don't think that the First Flame and Flame of Disparity are... actually the same thing. The DS3 Firekeeper chants about 'Manifestations of Disparity' (either referring to the Ashen One or the souls she's handling) so I think it's quite possible that the First Flame is but a manifestation of the Flame of Disparity. This would make sense because The First Flame DIES if you let an Age of Dark come, but the cycle of Fire and Dark continues along without the First Flame being present for half of it. It may just be how Disparity manifests in a world. And that crucial difference would still make sense in the world because from the characters' perspectives, they're one and the same. But the reality of it would be that they don't even see the whole tip of the iceberg. It's possible that there's a 'First Flame' in EVERY world, and through it you can interact with the Flame of Disparity. But I am kinda stanced against changing it as a metaphysical construct. But commanding it like the Throne of Want's lore suggests but on a greater scale would be an excellent way to go. More providing guidelines than taking it by the reins, yeah? In addition, there's evidence that the Dark Soul is VERY different from the Lord Souls. The Dark Soul is used in Dark Souls 3 to paint another Painted World INSIDE the Painted World of Ariamis -I mean- Ariandel. The fact that this is even possible implies that Lordran itself is likely a Painted World. It may even be another metaphysical constant like the Flame of Disparity. I think there's a video on the subject on youtube somewhere. I'll need to go find it. EDIT: Well damn. It's nowhere to be seen. Probably got buried by the algorithm or in the endless lore videos and guides. I found it for the first time when diving into the endless abyss of Dark Souls Lore videos. Maybe you'll have a better time of it. At any rate, one other bit of advice I want to give is to watch the scale of the characters. Dark Souls is pretty grounded on that (like there's no Saitama or Supermen who can just destroy absolutely everything with no effort, for example. Everyone stays below a given strength value). Elevating the power scale of the characters is fine, but doing it too much is more likely to remove their relatability. Goku is easier to relate to before he can blow up the multiverse by thinking too hard. In addition, it plants the question in (at least my) mind of "Well, if they're this powerful, what's preventing them from just doing X thing to solve the problem?" If characters are too strong, they are more likely to be able to use their strength in ways that trivialize any problem. It's why Superman's opponents somehow ALWAYS have Kryptonite or something like it, because otherwise no one could touch him. |
Antoine chapter 2 . 8/19 I am pleased with this chapter. Sometimes, the action feels just a bit tedious. It can be fun to tear through a dozen hollows in the game, but reading about each one can get a bit repetitive, so maybe a more streamlined story would be better, focusing on the most interesting and unique encounters. I imagine that will get better as the story builds steam from here on. |
Antoine chapter 1 . 8/19 Oh, this is awesome! I was a bit wary at first. Comedy can be difficult to pull off well. Constant over-the-top absurdity and poor taste are rampant in many such attempts, and I also was a bit wary of the "guy from real world finds himself in the game" trope, but so far you seem to be handling it well. I also really LOVE that you brought Oscar with you! That makes me very happy, and I am eager to see how this companionship will develop! Hurrah for jolly cooperation! |
Nerf585 chapter 53 . 7/23 Okay i know i asked this before and you probably replied to it, but will you ever expand/create the story of when prophet was in League? |
KNIGH7DRAGON3 chapter 53 . 7/15 would you like some help? I can take care of a few chapters for ya |
Kla Zark chapter 18 . 7/13 Chicken soul |
webzayne717 chapter 36 . 7/13 I despise amnesia or memory loss in any form, in any medium. The only reason I haven't dropped this story, is because I'm too far in. This shit is dumb... |
webzayne717 chapter 26 . 7/13 Why is this fool letting enemies leave to plot for later? Absolutely retarded. |
webzayne717 chapter 20 . 7/13 He has the Dark Soul, I mean, it's implied that the chosen undead has it. Humanity is the best fuel for the flame, it burns darkness... The dark soul was shattered, but no one really knows what happened to the main one(core), it just disappeared with the pygmies never to be seen again. |
eternal king of fire chapter 52 . 7/13 im loving the interactions between the prophet and everyone's favorite eldritch crossbreed tho i have a feeling she wont let the prophet get away with lying to her i do hope she and velka become frends tho one last thing *lewd Priscilla and runs before the guard can catch me* |
webzayne717 chapter 15 . 7/13 Why couldn't he have used his pyromancy to free her? |
Guest chapter 52 . 7/13 Well, in thoughts of how to get Jerry down painfully and without him getting away, I keep turning back to Iron Flesh. Jerry whips, blood comes out, just reach out with your magic and ferrify your blood to weigh it down, or stick it to you. Then use it on yourself to gain mass for a better...leverage? More advantageous position, I've forgotten some of my momenty terms, when bringing it in. Black smoke, then manipulate that into condensing into a gluey substance to slow his movements, and follow with straight up osidian, ash, chains to pull him in and bind off his pyromancy hand. Then, get him in a full nelson, and max act your Iron Flesh to engulf him, wander over to the edge, fall down, and totter to Priscilla for a quick can opening. It could be a little trickier if he has some real good tricks, like the guy in DS3, but I feel the concept of tottering out with someone imprisoned on your front so other people can deal with it is a pretty cool one. |
webzayne717 chapter 7 . 7/13 Goddamnit do you not know how to spell it? dammit, damn darn, gosh damn it. Dame is not the word that what you want, and everytime I read it used like this, a brain cell commits suicide. |
