That's a whole new level of forcing characters to do things 'for their own good'. I wonder why so many authors enjoy it so much. I just wish that once in a while such 'well wishers' wouldn't go free for what they do. The ends don't justify the means even if the ends sound well and even if it all ends well. It still a version of rape be it old magic or old friends.
