rossui chapter 1 . 6/3/2019 I don't know how I came across this but am so pleased I did. Inventive, unique, funny, poignant. I see your last posted story is in 2015. I hope you are still writing somewhere, you are that good. |
dreamflower02 chapter 1 . 12/2/2018 What fun to revisit this lovely gift from you! I came across it in the favorites of someone who favorited a story of mine. (Imagine a future scholar decades hence untangling the vagaries of fanfic interactions, LOL.) I just love the picture you paint of the friendship between Merry and Eomer (autocorrect wishes to insist the King of Rohan is named "Elmer".) It is just poignant and melancholy, and yet filled with sweet hopefulness. It was quite a treat to find it here. |
previouslyjade chapter 1 . 7/10/2018 Wonderful. It seems, from what I've read of this and your other stories, that you've done some scholarship into Old English/Anglo Saxon? Anyway I appreciated the quasi-scholarly tone of this and the carefully-drawn friendship between the two characters :) |
BlackQueen92 chapter 1 . 6/13/2018 Found your stories yesterday, im now halfway through. I love your writing style. And I really love the stories, like this one, where historians or likewise look back to try to figure out the life of persons from earliere time. Im studying to be a historian myself so i really like the setting of the story. |
Anon chapter 1 . 6/1/2017 I'm so glad there are fics from the hobbit's point of view after all for Tolkien it was the best way to tell a story |
VanyaNoldo22 chapter 1 . 4/27/2017 Excellent! I always admire how you write your stories. Its amazing how you connect the present happenings to historical based writings of the new age. Its like... being in that time frame (literally). I don't know how to explain, but, seeing an event from the view of a historian or a history teller and then having it explained or broadened by the words of the exact happenings (through the thoughts of the main characters or other people) makes it much clearer and believable. Hannon le, mellón nín.P.S. Sorry for the rather long comment. |
LadyOfAnfalas chapter 1 . 9/18/2015 Lovely story. Both characters' tone style were very IC, and both were endearing. The use of letters was original and interesting. |
Miss Mia chapter 1 . 9/6/2015 Loved this! So much true representation of character, so human (hobbit?). Reads like an actual historian's investigation. Well done. |
Sophia the Scribe chapter 1 . 8/3/2015 Very nice story. The characterizations of Merry and Éomer were (to me) spot-on. I am definitely looking forward to part 2! Blessings, Sophia P.S. I liked the insinuation that Pippin also exchanged letters with Faramir. Maybe you could also do something like this with those letters? |
NaginiFay chapter 1 . 8/3/2015 This is really cool, and I enjoyed it a lot. |
gginsc chapter 1 . 7/30/2015 Interesting topic. I enjoyed it. |
marmota-b chapter 1 . 7/28/2015 I like how realistically this is portrayed - as letters possibly never sent, with corrections and tangents; and with the time it takes to send them. You ended it at a very good point, I think, with the hobbit-ness. |
sailor68 chapter 1 . 7/24/2015 Another great story! Thank you! |
