This was my favorite story. I love ones where mystique is Kurt's mother. I loved everything about this story until it was revealed that mystique was not creeds mother. After that I could no longer read this story and I am very sad about that.

I'm still amazed at your ability to write action and emotion equally well. Your characterizations are well thought-out. Each chapter is immersive. Many an evening, I sat down to read this before shutting off the computer for the night, and I looked forward to it as my bedtime story.

Also, you do a great job of blending the movies and the comics. That's no easy thing.

Nice cliffhanger! Love the Mystique/Azazel memory.

I like the way you develop (or continue from the books' & movies' development) characters' mannerisms and what they learn over time, like Hank here with Alex. "It was at times like these that Hank wished he really was just a doctor," heh. I'm glad Mystique made it clear to Kurt that Amanda was on Graydon's wanted list, too, and I'm glad she has twinges of conscience around Charles. Nice detail with Logan weighing a ton, especially since only one of the movies ever bothered to include that.

Yay for Mystique realizing she's been loved all along! I wouldn't mind seeing Charles pilot the Blackbird in the next movie; it probably won't happen, but it'd be cool. Nice use also of the Blackbird's lights.

OOPS - teleporting right in front of Graydon! Very nice twist. I know I'm just leaving short reviews, and it feels like a well-written chapter deserves more than that. I really am enjoying each one.

Love the scene with Charles and Raven; you balance their past and their present very well. I also enjoyed take-charge Hank.

"'He'll be able to stabilize himself until we get there.' She immediately shook her head. 'And don't worry, Hank. I'll be right beside him.'" I was confused by this, wondering how one led to the other. Maybe I just read it incorrectly.

Yeah, I kept reading. This is much more compelling than bedtime.

I'm eagerly returning to this fic after a detour (and re-reading the first 39 chapters to refresh my memory). It's still good, of course. Bedtime has rolled around and I'm debating whether to continue tonight or force myself to stop...
