Okokok. I just want to say thank you for writing this. I’ve had a really bad week, I’ve been sick, friend troubles, school, stress, ya know the usual. And i think a big part of the day I looked forward to was reading this fanfic before I went to bed. So I finally finished it today, and it was a really good day. Everything’s better in the story and in my life. If that’s not a sign I don’t know what is. This is pure gold and I’m not kidding. Thank you SO much for writing! ️

Little annoying how you use "The angel" and "The older hunter" in reference to people. John, Dean, and Cas's feelings could've been more nuanced or shown rather than told than "Dad was right, wasn't he?" or "Cas knew he was a worthless monster". Bit on the nose. Sam's emotions were expressed pretty well, I think. Really interesting plot. Great story!

Wow...that fight...Dean’s explosion. that was cathartic. finally. Also I feel like this is more s8 self-loathing cas but I think s8 s6 cas would be too fresh so that wouldn’t work nearly as well as this and probably hadnt occurred when you wrote this! which by the way I LOVE. what a concept. I wonder what the differences between them then s5 and now in s14 would be and how much more quickly dean would shut him down. i imagine it would be a shorter story yet I’m interested in what you would think as the writer of this amazing fic! Thanks for all your hard work.

Omg this was so good! I love the inner conflict in all the characters. I loved how Dean was the one to stand up to his dad and how Dean was the one that got captured and hurt (most fics it's Sam) and lastly. I loved how loyal Cases was. It fit his character completely

Brilliant. Absolutely, gorgeously, brilliant. You capture the essence of each character to the point where I wouldn't hesitate if someone claimed that this was an episode of its own. It had a clever plot, it had character, and it had set several obstacles for the characters to react to: their dad back to life, the case of nimrod, john's hatred of Castiel, Sam's defiance, Raphael's apparent interference, Dean's defiance (got to say, that was awesome), the kidnapping of Castiel, John making the right choice, and the gun.

There's John, the man who rarely trusts and is stubborn to the point he will strike his sons in order to continue. Dean, who would always follow his father's orders, but would never choose him over his best friend Castiel. Sam, who asked real questions and stood up against John's controversial demands. Castiel, who's forever loyal, constantly polite, and heart-wrenchingly doubting of himself.

I'm going to say it again, this was outstandingly perfect. You managed to blend canon along with your own vision of these characters, and I can only applaud.

Now, one final question: are you Chuck? Because that was one hell of a story. A capturing, mesmerizing, stunning story.

Aaaaand finished, once again! Man, this could easily be my favorite book.
Also, I read the ending AN of this chapter and saw I was still going by a.k.a. T.R. In that time. Man, I forgot I ever used that url ahahahh.
But seriously, thank you for writing this fic, I love it so much. Or as you wrote in the AN (and went through the trouble of checking where each of us was from and actually translating the thanks into our own languages, how awesome are you?), hvala!

And yet again, I find myself back here for another reread. I think it's the fifth time? Doesn't matter, the point is, I love it and it makes me as giddy as it did the first time around.
