Great chapter and good luck to Sonic for the uphill battle he has.

Your first story before this was long; this story looks to be just as long. Were this any other kind of story, I would have gripes about having chapters which are obscenely long. Personally, I find it detracts from the story by filling chapters will redundant information that only serves to make them longer.

However, this is a courtroom drama murder mystery story. Because you start from scratch with the trials and take us through the task of cross-examining witnesses alongside collected evidence; the long chapters are almost a necessity. From what I noticed, you sectioned each trial chapter based on what important piece of information is uncovered. That, at least, allows each chapter to concentrate on its own sub-plot; that's what I believe chapters to be, a means to introduce a smaller plot that supplements the overall plot of the story.

I also liked how you managed to make each case in a way that we as readers can play along if we so choose to. It plays almost like a pen-and-paper RPG, though it stops short from doing so by creating a story which flows without playing along. That said, I can only imagine how much of a headache it is to make sure testimonies and evidence are done correctly and contradict things only when you want them to. The amount of planning you do must be insane.

In short, I like both your first story and this one. If you do plan on continuing this as a trilogy, then I hope the third one comes out just as well. Oh, and I hope you're getting into the main plot of this story soon. I have an idea what it might be, but it could simply be you making it into a coincidence and nothing more.
